Few days ago my site lost the "money keyword". Today in serp appeared one EMD and with Ahref i checked the backlinks .

The search engines are very cautious about the "money making" niche. They may have decided that your site didn't accord with their current requirements.

I presume you know that this has dropped out of the search rankings because you lost traffic?

    Just my two cents. Moriarty

I would imagine that Google's algorithm varies slightly on international sites. It's not unusual to see the same site rank differently in different countries.

Interesting, my guess is that they'll be shoved down pretty soon. There is a flash in the pan strategy that some people use. They'll make a site like this, which will rank on google for a few weeks, then get slapped down.

They'll take the profit, and then build more sites like this.

    Still, that's some interesting stats.

      Yes, this is very true.
After the Jan 2013 Panda refresh, Its observed that a special treatment is given to EMD's.
Here is my post on the same,

Since Google's Motto is to provide its searchers the best search experience in terms of search results.

But after the recent panda update, for many searches I found those spammy EMD's on top.

      Eg:

on Google.co.in search for keyword "Gabion Baskets" those EMD's are on top.

Friends, please share your views here.

Not all EMD domains are penalized but only the website which had low quality content are being penalized, what you have to do is that cross check the content placed on the website and work on it by coming with quality content and then perform offsite activities.

  • If you are living in USA and searching for some keyword at Google, you may not get the exact result what may Google.com.in will give you. It can be different. Also, having an EMD is not a bad thing at all as long as your website's content are good.
