Drop in Webmaster tool back links count

I have faced a major drop in the number of back links in my webmaster tools account. Nearly links from blogspot.com for my site was 12,000 in December when I checked the number of backlinks for my site blogspot in contributing only 8,000 back links. Did any one face this similar issue for your sites.

Danielthomas,

I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Have you checked your backlinks with a third party tool or just using the search operator Link:? Google states in WMT that they don’t always show all links that may be pointing to a site. Note that the link operator will not show everything either.
