Adsense disabled on my main site (300,000 visitors a month) - best direction to turn now??

Yeah, forcibly disabled due to one article on a 1,600 article site being falsely accused of plaigarism. Currently working on the appeal, and waiting on Media.net approval just to hedge my bets. The main topic of the site is iPhone and (to a lesser extent) Facebook games. Before being disabled I was doing about 14,000 bucks a year.

So should I stay PPC since that's been working for me, generally? Or would it be a better idea to go to Clickbank, Amazon, or some other PPA site, even though I'm not in a "reviewing" or "selling stuff" kind of niche? Anyone else out there had a decent experience putting PPA ads on something that doesn't involve having a sales page or a list built? Even if Google decides to serve ads to my site again I'm still thinking of ditching them if I can, as I have no desire to start playing the infamous Google Games.

    A lesson has been learnt

Never have all your eggs in one basket.

If one account being closed down is enough to turn a profitable site into one that makes you absolutely no money then that's something you need to address immediately.

Never have any part of your business rely solely on any Google service -- it's a dangerous game and will only ever lead to stories like this one.

Sorry to hear that and I've been through that before with adsense...

Were you able to build a list with all of that traffic? You probably would have been a millionaire by now if you did!

As I said in my OP, there's no list. Obviously, there would not be a list considering that as I said in the OP, my page is related to tips and tricks for iPhone games. Anyone else?

It's still possible to build a list in the iPhone games niche. Then you can market to that list repeated iPhone offers and products.

So the question remains the same. Why are you still refusing to build a list?

I would wack up some CPA offers and see how they perform. Should be able to find plenty of Iphone offers on the networks.

If you do not have an account already, i would suggest joining PeerFly. They are generally pretty easy to get into.

          Exactly.

My answer is what did you really expect having all your eggs in one basket. It wasn't a matter of IF this was going to happen but WHEN. Now it has happened you have learnt a valuable lesson.

Test some new and VARIED forms of monetizing the site and move forward. As for what will work best on your site, none of us can say. It's something that you will need to test. Not the answer you probably want to hear but it's the correct one. Only your audience can dictate what will make you money -- no one else.

A lot of the advertisers are headaches outside of google.

I take a check from ValueMedia and CPX ... but CPX is a headache and ValueMedia hasn't paid nearly as well as Adsense BUT, they are on time with payouts!

I'm finding that selling your own product = #1 way to exist.

The Google Monster is definitely becoming very 'tailored' to only the major blogs owned by corporations. They are finding more and more reasons to shut websites out of legitimate opportunity.

    Welcome to the club.
I'd suggest trying cpm based network, like valuclickmedia or tribalfusion.
You can also try other cpc ad networks like chitika, but none will perform like adsense and you have to live with that fact.
