Ok so I had been #1 on Google for the keyword michelada recipes and now I am stuck halfway down page 2. I have been focusing on slow and steady back-linking with web 2.0 sites and blogs with no luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. The link to my site is in my signature.

Thanks,

How often do you update your content on your site? Is it on a daily or weekly basis? You need to do that more regularly.

You need to look into expanding your link diversity as relying soley on web 2.0's and blogs will not cut you a deal. I mean it

You can either contact MikeAnthony or MikeFriedman on the WF as these 2 gents are real seo experts. They also have a solid reputation on this Forum.

What sort of diversity? I'd love to hear your wisdom on the matter.

Why should we trust your recommendations?

Why should anybody trust you when you give out crap advice like this.

"Please do not worry as ms adcenter allows you to create many accounts. All you need to do is call their customer service rep and they will tell you this"

Also when you went to that Michigan Affiliate meeting and learned so much about SEO. Turns out it was a habitat for humanity affiliate meeting that had nothing to do with SEO.

What does MS Adcenter advice have to do with SEO Marc? Pay per click now is SEO for you?

MikeF's a standup guy and a good SEO no need to go all hot and bothered because someone recommended him. No need to worry about me as you can see from my lack of sig link I don't want any SEO customers from WF anymore. Mind you most of them were good but I realized I could do without the crazy "I want results in weeks" crowd that end up eating up more time that your better paying customers. Life's too short and for full SEO the pickings are better with real business customers not the adsense and affiliate guys. I just am not going to risk my network by doing the rocket sites to the top for peanuts thing. So dude..........relax.

First of all the dude is a fake account. PPC has nothing whatsoever to do with SEO and I never said it did. The guy was asking about adsense.

The above post should be about " Re: Stuck On Page 2 need SEO help"only.
    nhoudek is interested in SEO.
So nhoudek, try to add as much onpage content as you can to your website. Make sure that your content is fresh and unique.
I would also suggest that you look into well protected Powerful Private Networks that do not leave any footprints on Google.

So am I and you're giving advice in this and other threads that are based on lies. Your adsense advice was totally wrong and misled the OP of that thread. You're also a fake account along with these accounts.

      Loopydupe
      SkooterSuite
      newarkbadshu

      There may be others...

Your advice is just fluff. Why don't you tell the OP to get a pink unicorn while you're at it? What network is totally impervious to Google detection that he could get links on? Bottom line is the links are the footprints. Odds are if you get one link on the network you'll get 20-100 links on it along with all of the rest of the customers. When that happens the sites can be detected.

      OP

I'd be happy to help you. Add me to skype at marc.laclear and I'll take a closer look at what may be going on with your site. One thing for sure is to not to listen to fake accounts that have no real content to their posts.

Wow, LOL So you are upset that someone suggested Mike and now you want the OP to check you out? No conflict of interest there eh?

        Poor Poor form

If you think someone is a fake then take it up with a mod not make accusations that could very well lead people to believe the guy is some shill for me or MikeF

Don't know how to tell you to make you understand. running around making accusation and calling people liars is not how you address things. You report it and let a mod or admin check it out. The habitat for humanity is a non issue in this thread. Doesn't matter whether someone said they got advice from their Mom's bake sale. I say over the years the advice I have seen here you could do worse than Mom's advice.

It's not that hard Mike. You just buy a few thousand .info's at 99 cents a piece. You throw up Wordpress with some generic theme on it. And then you post spun nonsensical gibberish to all the sites using AMR. Don't worry about if the content is related to the links or not. Not necessary.

Boom. Now you're an SEO.

Anyhow, to the OP... How long were you #1? A few days? A few weeks? months? years? If it is a newer site, this is pretty normal. It's called QDF. Google it. Query Deserves Freshness.

Many new sites will get a slight temporary ranking boost that goes away in a few weeks. Then they fall to their "rightful" ranking position.

Also, what were you using to check your rankings? If you were using your browser, were you running something like CCleaner before hand? Were you using private browsing or an Incognito window in Chrome? If not, you might have been seeing personalized search results when you were showing up #1.

          Just a few possibilities.

I was number one for 2-3 weeks when the site was new due to QDF. then dropped for about 2-4 weeks. I always clear my browser history before checking my rankings. I stayed there for about 2-3 months before dropping again.

Well said my friend Hey MikeF, that's some great advice man . Thank You to MikeF/Mike Anthony
Some "people" can't tolerate the ground realities of SEO or they seemingly don't want to acknowledge the powerful SEO methods that do work. Anways, as far as the OP goes, here are some tips from my side:

Try to get links from website pages that have a relatively high page rank/PR. These backlinks are considered as of high value since these pages are trusted by the big G, the main reason is because these pages have inbound backlinks.

Technically speaking, if you get a link from a High PR website page that is considered as important by the Big G, then the Big G will give value to your website because it will think that it is important as well.

Successful SEO strategy incorporates Link Quality, which will increase your website's trust flow. Also Please do update your website regularly with unique and fresh content because your main goal is to increase your website's onsite user behavior. If people come to your website and if they leave your website very quickly, then it demonstrates very poor user behaviour and that is not a good thing. Please note that content is indeed king and offpage seo (building quality backlinks) complements your onpage seo efforts

The main thing here is that not only you wants to rank well for the term "michelada recipes". There is a real competition around every good keyword and people are working hard to get better rankings every day.

My advice: Don't stop studying your competition and do always better than they do.

Your website is seems like Exact Match domain.

Nowadays, EMD websites are penalized by Google if website does not have quality information. So, try to provide some unique and interesting content based on your visitor's taste and build quality & relevant backlinks to your website. It may helps to get your #1 position again in upcoming days..

EMDs are not penalized whether they have quality information or not. They just are not given the ranking boost they used to get.

I am going to tell you the truth that the others don't want to tell you (a few because they don't want to offend you and the rest because they are still in denial)

The site does not deserve to rank and whatever anyone does to it by way of links will not last. The changes last year and the changes surely coming this year do not favor 5 page made for adsense sites. The only reason you are even in the top 20 is because you have very weak competition so whenever anyone really wants to outrank you they will

I think adsense sucks so someone else can fill me in if you replacing a proper top navigation with adsense links isn't a violation of guidelines but it sure should be since its deceptive. People will click on it not because they know its an ad bt because they think its navigation for the site.

The old adage that Google ranks pages not sites is old ad tired. Anyone looking at the serps will see that pages often rank from SITES that have more authority. technically only a page can rank but the idea that the authority or yep even relevancy of the rest of the site does not play a role is outdated.

Bottom line is Google knows that putting up a single page is what marketers love and is easy for spammers to do. they want to see fuller sites. Some here will complain , laugh at or disagree because the algo is multi layered and you will always have a result on a serp somewhere
that because of one of those layers ranks despite it having one or two very bad layer signals but anyone really beleving that five page websites with ads stuck all over them and very few signals that any need is being met is going to last is kidding themselves.

Bottom line is make a better site preferably one people would want to return to because you show some interest beyond placing adsense ads all over it. When you do that then the site is free to get some better links as well. right now I wouldn't link to it with a network as someone suggested because the biggest footprint of them all is linking to a site that almost no one would without payment.

We know, you think Adsense sucks, so your opinion is biased (Banned? Can't figure it out? Google did you wrong?).

Part of the problem with OP/site is a small 10-page (MFA), but the bigger problem is OP is wasting their time in a very low performing niche (recipes), they might as well have Google PSA Ads running on the site/page because all they'll get is pennies on the CPC. So OP is up against sites like huffingtonpost for a very low earning niche which isn't an Adsense problem, it's a niche problem. I seriously doubt OP did any research on the niche as far as earnings.

BTW, Mike A., you keep knocking Adsense since I've been on this forum (3 years), I've seen you switch directions multiple times, now you say in another thread you stopped selling links on WF (problem?). I've been running Adsense for at least 6 years, making consistent money, keeping the bills paid. See where I'm going with this?

BS, adsense sucks. There is no way you have paid the bills with it. Mike Anthony says it sucks so it sucks.

Yeah and you used to sell profile links, now what? Nobody uses the method you are talking about anymore so why keep bringing it up? Whatever we used to do worked very well (you're not describing it accurately by the way) but it doesn't anymore. So we changed, genius. I won't hold you pimping angela type backlinks against you. Why don't you return the favor?

People still sell angela type backlinks. I got out of that LONG before they turned to spit and so I never hurt anyone site with them. Don't really care what you will or won't hold and yes people still do article blasts to networks. You commented on my ability of getting things right and just pointed out you are correct. .

Never been banned by Google for anything. Seriously its just part of growing up and doing business. You don't have to be banned to know getting paid pennies on the dollar isn't a good business model. Now if you have a good business plan and you use adsense to make a few shillings with some spare space then hey its all good but to create sites just with the goal to get people to click some links? Nonsense and even more so now than ever. You know this too but you try and fool people that its not so. Shucks even Paul your side kick has admitted he makes more money selling links than he does with adsense. Thats your number 2 guy on these forums thats in love with Google. WHat duz dat say about it?

BTW, Mike A., you keep knocking Adsense since I've been on this forum (3 years), I've seen you switch directions multiple times
Yuke your full of crap. LOl . About three years I used to sell profile links cause they worked. since then I haven't flipped on anything. You are just lying. YOu always get upset when anyone points out the OBVIOUS issues with adsense as a business model because you consider yourself a guru on it and it hurts your feelings (I guess). Lighten up get a girl. I won't insult her and we will be cool cause you won;t have to make any stories up when I don't insult her.

But anyway Yuke the adsense guru tell me over the three years you been here why is it that when the polls are done so few people make any real money with adsense. You cant change those facts. YOu been here years leading the charge and most of the people reading this thread and participating on this forum haven't been able to buy more than a few video games a month. SO either adsense sucks or your teaching it does.

now you say in another thread you stopped selling links on WF (problem?).
LOL...SO if i no longer need to sell links on WF there has to be a problem? What your whole business world revolves around WF? You funny. Besides get your facts straight my man. I said I don't offer SEO anymore. I have a white hat link system that has been in development and it will be offered here. DOing a beta test next week (thanks for the plug opportunity). Selling links? I NEVER did much of that so you are doing all kinds of fibbing in this thread. Everyone here knows I am into building networks and those who know how to read will tell you I don;t sell links on my network apart from offering full SEO. I've turned down multiple requests .

I've been running Adsense for at least 6 years, making consistent money, keeping the bills paid. See where I'm going with this?
Nope because frankly I think the odds are even you live at home with Mom and your brother is next door in the other room. Thats been my guess based on a number of things I have noticed but what point could you possibly think you are making by claiming to be paying the bills. Going to present any evidence? You never have nor shoud you but trying to make a point based on what cannot be verified is kind of junior high if you get where I am going with this.

Funny how you dis the profile link sellers, but you yourself admit to selling the same exact links.

Yes, you've switched the game plan which always revolves around backlinks (only backlinks). Instead of chasing your tail, get a real game plan that works for years & years, then you won't be changing your entire game plan every time Google algo. changes. There's nothing wrong with trying to do better than yesterday, but chasing Google algos. is for the birds.

Mike is about as convincible as the Taliban. He suffers from confirmation bias where he believes, without question, ANYTHING that tends to support his position and demands mounds of evidence from multiple sources from independent sources for anything that cuts against his position. I'd take him about as seriously as Bozo the Clown.

I dunno. Taliban might not be all that bad. I think even they wouldn't refuse to remove links after they screwed up peoples sites and don't sell Bozo short -He definitely would clean up after himself after a circus act. Too silly. The internets change dude. few years back meta tags used to work so if I used those back then thats funny to you too? I guess you still use animated gifs for animation on your site. LOL Profile links worked but you know what? even back then few people were making money with adsense as well. SO I adapted and changed onone thing three years ago and you push the same old thing that has never worked for most people.

Yes, you've switched the game plan which always revolves around backlinks (only backlinks).
One thing I won't abide is a forum poster straight up lying about me. You can disagree with me on an issue but lying is just too low to let go and dude -

thats about your fourth straight up bare faced lie about me and your school bell hasn't even rung yet.

Anyone here with an ounce of integrity will tell you I have NEVER been a backlink only person. Your flat out lie is even contradicted in this thread where you are upset because I tell the OP to build a fuller site. Is that backlinks? no - so your lying is evident to everyone. Furthermore I have threads on his forum over the years that talk about H1 tags, LSI and even the coming author tag and have talked over and over about quality content so really man thats just sleazeball making stuff up from you and it aint the first time you didn't like my opinions on adsense and fabricated stuff.

The only people who have been chasing their tails with algo changes have been people who were spamming links putting up MFAs. News flash. VERY LITTLE IN SEO HAS CHANGED in the last two years for people not into that. I haven't had to change focus even once in the last three years. NO one who puts quality content on their site, gets High authority links and builds full sites has had to change anything. Its people trying to build sites just to get people to click links for adsense which you push all day long as a solid business model that concentrate on links cause it sure aint quality content you see on these MFAS

You can try and fool the newbs reading this but you are not fooling any regular reading this that all I have ever talked about or used is links with no regard to on page SEO. They all know you are straight up lying.

    Thanks,
You might want to try some high Pr quality links. Avoid those blog comments with high OBL but go for actual on page PR related to your website; these are good for pushing your site up when you need the extra edge on the front page.

Although it depends with this I would also suggest you do a good general link campaign to actually promote your site and increase web traffic.

Another big issue might be your onsite bounce rate; we found one time that when our content went out of date and people were jumping off our site...the ranks were stuck lower but we updated the content and our bounce rate drop; helps a lot

Jeez, it's like a children's playground in here.

To the OP, this might sound generic, but you do need to pad out your site with maybe some more content and definitely more quality links. You're also competing with the likes of wikipedia and huffington post. How old is the site? I suspect the original boost to the top was because of your site's "freshness", but now it's sitting where it belongs. Better link profile = higher rank, there really is nothing more to it then that.

Whether Adsense is profitable or not is not really the question here is it?

Let's get back to the topic on hand, why is this guy ranking on the second page?

In my opinion you just need more time/links. Yes large sites do seem to get google love, but that doesn't mean they are unbeatable, just means it takes more effort.

I remember the days when angela profile links would shoot you to the top.

They still have an effect, I don't use them, but I realized the other day that one of my competing sites was using xrumer style links to compete, so obviously they still do something.

Anyway, I think that the OP just needs to diversify his links and keep on building them, also that he needs to check his anchor text diversity. From what I've seen that was the biggest thing that has changed recently.

Thats already been answered. It doesn't meet either the on page or off page requirements. Its an MFA and we can pretend and dream all we want Google does not want to see those at the top of the search results.

Incidentally in the real world how profitable a site is DOES affect the amount of content that goes into it. The whole reason other sites beat the junk out of the average marketers sites is because they have a busines model that pays them to invest more so they put in more. The whole systemic problem with Made for adsense sites is that they are made to make chump change so the webmasters have no intention of putting in above a certain level of work into them. People can stick their heads in the sand all they want but it IS part of the equation.

Yes large sites do seem to get google love, but that doesn't mean they are unbeatable, just means it takes more effort.
or I dunno give Google what they want in more and better content and stop with this hopeless dream that if you just point more links at garbage Google will smell a rose. After 2012 how can people still not get that? Think Google is done? 2013 has more shocks coming.

Well first we have to say that it depends on niche. One page can work fine because the content is killer (and content can be far more than text it can even be dynamic). Why that won't work for marketers is because their idea of great content is that it passes copyscape.

but sure but mostly for terms no one cares that much about but marketers. IF a real business wants to rank for a term badly enough their SEO will just report a site ranking on unnatural links and Like I just wrote though Google aint done. Even more of the no good content web masters will be crying in 2013.

At the end, SEO is all about relevance. If your brand, website or content isn't worthy enough, you cannot get to the first page.
Let's talk about the other case now. You should have a look at your backlink profile, get more variety in the anchor text of your backlinks.
Focus more and more on Social Media. There is nothing Google enjoys more than ranking a page which is shared by a number of people on various social media platforms.
