way to separately track google serp and google places serp

I have clients that do business in multiple cities.
Of course we promote them in natural serps and google places.
Anybody found a reliable solution to accurately track each?
Or atleast guarantee that when they are tracking google 1st page placements
that the google places ranking is not appearing as a natural serp in the results?

    Have you tried generating referral reports and manual tagging in Google analytics? Analytics is generally pretty reliable as long as you have proper filters in place.

    appreciate the reply, that can indeed be very useful. still looking for a simple solution to generate ranks reports on natural serps and not fudging the data due to Google places ranks. of course the big G is making it harder and harder for serp results providers to do this for us.

    GeoRanker is able to differentiate between organic, paid and local SERP results. It's been of great use in my local SEO campaigns, especially because it can also track SERP for multiple cities.
