How to Remove Page from Google?

One of my clients facing a problem related to Google search.If it search for its keyword in GOOGLE it also show one of the other page of its confidential data about its project ,so anyone can help me how to delist that site from the GOOGLE?

  • Why would you put confidential information on a website that isn't password protected? Put a password on it or take it off the internet, it's not rocket science.

  • Simple: take said page, rename it and pop it in a protected admin folder. It's a bit of work, it is pretty well immediate and you don't have to wait on Google to de-index anything.

    So what about the page you haven't renamed? For the current url change the text on it so that is then a landing page. Make sure that the structure and the rest are reasonably similar so that it keeps its place. Why miss out on tasty traffic?

    • Really wouldn't suggest this method to the OP because someone can still access it by typing in the URL. If it's confidential confidential information then it's definitely not a good idea.

  • As ichl13 said, you should Put a password on those confidential pages. This is the best option according to me.

    • This is what I was going to recommend. If it is a directory and more than one private file you can use the no index in the robots.txt file. A quick Google search would have given you this answer
  • Robots.txt is the fastest way to do this. Also you can just remove the page and ping your website

    • ban it via robots.txt . Then go to webmaster tools and request there to remove that url . Then it will be removed . Else it will remain indexed for a long time .
  • You have to make it non follow so google crawlers cannot view it.

    • If you never had webmaster tools on a particular site, and now you are not renewing the domain, (as of tomorrow) but want to re-use the content elsewhere, what's the best and easiest thing to do?

    i cant remove that side from webmaster tool as the site is not own by my client...some other site from where it is biding showing its confidential data....
    plz suggest me the other solution...

    • Could you explain it a bit more. Previously you mentioned totally different thing. Now you say the site is not your client's? I guess your a bit confused with the problem.
  • For a single page which contains confidential data and it needs to be removed you can use URL removal tool in Google webmasters tools. But if you want to remove entire directory or site, you can use robots.txt.
  • You deindex the website pages with the help of robots.txt or through google webmaster tools. Their is option to remove the page form google index.
  • eh... just add a bunch of porn words and a picture with a lot of tan pixels. =p
