Any Desktop Software for Ad Spying?

I'd like to ask for input on any desktop software that pulls advertiser data for the major search engines. Anyone using anything that works smoothly to build up an historical record. Please reply with your experience

For those who need it...

The basic idea is to get a historical record of search engine advertisers. Thne ability for gathering in all their ads and their keywords for analysis. Google makes it all freely available for download(until they ban the IP address) but this data only takes on meaning with a longer history getting every days results and then displaying those results.

At least 2 weeks and better a full 30 days of watching the same keywords and the same ads. Then you can deduce(guesstimate) the winning keywords and winning ads.

That's the idea... and it's relevant to any affiliate or CPA marketer. So, how to get that data without a lot of hassles?

There are monthly services like KeywordSpy, Google Cash Detective, Spyfu, and Compete.

There are some scripts for getting competitors ads and keywords, such as Adpsy Pro and they have their uses but are always limited in how you can analyze and chart the data.

Just having all that data doesn't do much good if you can filter it and find the gold nuggets.

Whatever your using, please post a reply.

Thanks

J Greg

      Hi,

As your basic ideas, i recommended PPC Bully or PPC Shadow. They're both ad spying tools. There are video guides in their websites you can see yourself.

        Thanks, Ken.

Would you mind a few questions about PPC Shadow if you use it?

        * Can you get the historical data all at once? In other words, can you enter some keywords or domain and get 30 days historical data right away?

Or, is it necessary to wait after entering your keywords to get the data each data while it accumulates?

The new Google Cash Detective offers full historical view right away, but is also a monthly service

        * PPC Shadow seens to be a monthly service to access the data... How much when you upgrade?

Well, i think the system of ppc shadow is very close to ppc bully.

          1. No, you can't get it at once. Normally i left my keywords to get scan al least 7 days for accuracy results and see which keywords have more PI value than the others. GCD can show you the data right away so that why it cost you more than any other system in the market...please correct me if i'm wrong for this point!

          2. A monthy fee for ppc shadow is $47.

There is another ad spy tool i used to use it's Hexatrack but i discontinued a member for 3 or 4 months. This tool is quite similar to those above tools we're discussing but it gives you a less time waiting for the results. You can get maximum 200-keyword data by 48 hrs. The difference is no need to enter all of your keywords list just put the seed keyword then the program will show you up to 200 expanded keyword terms. You can check the updated features by go to hexatrack.com. Hope this helps!

      Thanks for the reply, Jenie

PPC Web spy is a well-done product. How has it worked for you?

For me, I'm in another country, so I can't get the USA advertisers I want to see with PPC Web Spy. Most advertisers are setting ads to display only in home country

What do you think about entering one keyword at a time into a browser to see the advertisers. With a large list of keywords, is that time consuming?

Most services and software allow you to enter an entire list of Keywords all at once, then you can see the data comparing all advertisers for a keyword. That's helpful for decisions.

And does it export the actual ad copy along with the advertisers keywords in a format... so you can use on your desktop to write your own ads?

Anyone else using PPC Web Spy?
