How does Analytics track Adwords Traffic?

Hey guys, for incoming Adwords traffic, what section or what does Google Analytics record this under?

I have a client who is using a different Adwords company and I want to be able to see how much traffic their campaign is contributing to my client's total traffic. My Analytics and their Adwords account is not linked for obvious purposes.

Does the traffic get recorded under "Not Provided" or something else?

Cheers.

If there's no way to link up the AdWords and Analytics account, then AdWords traffic will most likely be tracked as Google organic traffic. Then when you try to view the keywords for the AdWords campaign then it will most likely be tracked as "not set".

  • Daniellawseo,

If you cannot link the accounts, you will not be able to take advantage of the data sharing between analytics and adwords. I know it may be hard to change things now but for your future clients, you may want to consider having them use their own analytics account and just give you read access to it (or higher if needed). That way they aren’t tied to you and you can link those accounts if necessary.

    Thanks for the help guys.

I'm currently reviewing my organic traffic and there's no signs of any "Not Set" figures. Any ideas?
