  • For diversification, always build links for your site inner pages. It'll really help to increase your site presence in search engine. As you mentioned above in your post that you're new in this field. So i want to advice you dont do massive backlink work in no-time. Go slowly with quality work.

    • I've found it much easier to rank higher linking to inner pages where you are likely to have more long tail searches, more keywords. You usually try to rank the main page for fewer keywords which means more competition and a tougher time ranking well. But in the end both should be linked to.

  • You should do both. Inner page linking is a great strategy. Mix it up!
  • Link building is a never ending process. The more links you build for your website, is better. Make sure the links are relevant to your website.

And yes you should also build links for your inner pages, which will surely make your backlink profile strong.

  • Get a variety of links from all different sources (making sure not too over-optimize desired terms and including “natural terms” like “click here” or “visit this site”)
  • Don't forget to add content to your site. It is important and will help you rank in Google. Since your site is new, start submitting it to relevant niche directories. Also start doing social networking and bookmarking for your site. Guest Posting is a nice way to get some authority to your site.

    • Build links for both home page and inner page. There are many methods to create backlinks following.
      1. Directory Submission
      2. Social Bookmarking
      3. Forum Posting
      4. Guest Posting
      5. Blog Commenting
      6. PR
      7. Classified Ads
      8. Article Submission etc
Use always relevant and high PR site to build backlinks.
  • You should always diversify in EVERY aspect of SEO, which includes linking to your index AND your sub pages. Obviously trying to keep your linking highly relevant will also be favourable (so don't link to the homepage which has no content, with an anchor link that indicates specific information, etc)

    Hope it helps.

  • Linking to both your site and articles is necessary.

By linking to your articles, you will be creating different several strong pages
and these is what Google wants.

  • Hey Serious Request,

Link building - as mentioned by other warriors, you should ALWAYS link to your inner pages - the ones that are most relevant in building your links. Examples would include you finishing a blog post on how to grow taller via swimming and doing a bit of link building to promote that blog post for a particular keyword (e.g. "how to grow taller via swimming") and its keyword variations. Also remember to sprinkle in a few non-optimized links - ones where the anchor text is generic and doesn't contain your target keyword phrase.

Apart from that, if you have any specific questions, or if you have a specific page you'd like to optimize, if you include a link here, I'm sure all warriors will be more than willing to help.

Good luck and hope this helps!

    Baggio.

    • Link building is an art. It's almost always the most challenging part of an SEO's job, but also the one most critical to success. Link building requires creativity, hustle, and often, a budget. No two link building campaigns are the same, and the way you choose to build links depends as much upon your website as it does your personality. Below are three basic types of link acquisition.
      1 "Natural" Editorial Links
Links that are given naturally by sites and pages that want to link to your content or company. These links require no specific action from the SEO.
      2 Manual "Outreach" Link Building
The SEO creates these links by emailing bloggers for links, submitting sites to directories, or paying for listings of any kind. The SEO often creates a value proposition by explaining to the link target why creating the link is in their best interest.
      Self-Created, Non-Editorial
Hundreds of thousands of websites offer any visitor the opportunity to create links through guest book signings, forum signatures, blog comments, or user profiles.
  • What you can do is careful build links to the inner pages with different anchor texts and description everywhere possible at the same time make sure you just dont build links at every site you see make sure its an authoritative site with a good PR..A few examples are delicious,Digg,Stumbleupon,Slashdot and Newsmeback..Good Luck..
  • I've read most of the replies to you and I'll add one thing that I don't thnk anyone has said. You should also link the pages to each other. Don't overdo this, one link to another page is enough. (So somewhere amongst them, you'll as well have a link to the homepage from one of the internal pages.)
