Is it possible to gain authority in the eyes of big G with syndicated content? By syndicated, i mean content from quality sources like news sites, regularly updated blogs, etc.

    This is a tough one, I'd say yes and no. Many people will argue for both sides, but to be honest I think it comes down to a mix of content, domain quality, and offsite SEO (backlinks).

    Just saying that syndicated content will always kill your results is not always true. I don't think you can generalize.

    You can use some of the content. Always using content from other sites can cause problems. It is also important to add unique content to your site.
