How come my title tag is different in the search results?

I just noticed my title tag for my site shows up different than what I have in my All-In-One-SEO plugin settings. So when I do a search for "seo city" my site shows up 3rd in the listings, but the title is different from what I want it to be. I checked the page source and it shows the same info as the plugin, but in the actual search results they are different. Why did Google change my title and is there a way to get to change back to what I want?

    Google can and does use whatever title they think is appropriate.

      Well I haven't changed the title in like over 1.5 years and it was showing up in the search results like I have it my SEO plugin. Just recently I noticed it was not showing up as I have it entered in the plugin. So site has been indexed for a while and have not really changed anything for a while.

    What is your title supposed to be? If Google thinks it's too long, they'll pick out the best words and use that as your title.

    It is due to multiple titles, it may be that you have changed your title, the change is indexing process now, when it would be indexed then it would show in SERP while your old title is being shown.
