Aged domain old content / new content/ back links

If I am buying an aged domain and it has lets say 1200 back links and all the anchor text and content on the site is about dog walking. Lets say this site is 13 years old and has a strong pr 6 with 19 back links from government sites. To me this is a very strong pr6 domain. Now lets so I buy the domain and put up a site that has absolutely nothing to do with dog training and is a site with content having to do with mortgage rates and I start a link building campaign and get new back links with all the anchor text for mortgage rates because I am trying target mortgage related keyword..

Would this be a huge red flag for Google which would kill the pr and untimely de-index the site?

    Hi,

I don't think they would de-index the site but you will most likely loose some of the PR and all of your current search engine placements.

well i figure if it is a aged domain and the site currently has no content it would be a dead site and have no rankings... if it is a pr of 6 would be go to a pr of 0 if it has all new content and back links with new anchor keyword text?

PR update is after 3-4 months. I'm sure you can add enough content in that time. It would affect a bit to your site, but I guess it will surely catch up.
One problem would be, all the backlink I guess are Pets related, and you are changing it toally to a different niche.
