Reposting Published Articles On My Blog?

Hello Everyone,
I have a question and I am sure that if I do this Google will slam me for duplicate content but I came across an article saying that Google wont. Anyhow will Google penalize me if I re-post articles that I own and written but have published or posted on other sites?

Example lets say an article that I posted on a site that is not mine but I am a guest writer of the site oh about 4 months ago so it has been indexed and crawled by Google well if I re-post that article on my site or blog will Google get me for duplicate content?

    Re posting the published articles on a blog may decrease the authority of your blog.

        As long as you have original content on your blog it isn't going to hurt you to re-post a article, it's done all the time by some of the biggest sites on the net.

          Ok and yes I do have 99% original content on my blog so this will be only once in a while reposting an article that I posted somewhere else so that being said are you sure it wont hurt my site?

    I would not re-post an article that you had written as a guest blog. You can re-post articles from other sites you own. If people re-post Google will only take that post into account once. It takes the post or article on the higher ranking site.
