Hey WF,

If I wanted to pay for email marketing, how FTC compliant is it?

Thanks,

Sanj.

As long as it's CAN-SPAM compliant, you shouldn't have an issue. However, it's really something you'd want to check with an attorney on.

Thanks Chase. I've had a look at CAN-SPAM. The major points are:

-No deception (From and Reply fields must route to the business or individual promoting the product)

-No hype like "I made $13,000 in 4 days" UNLESS you can prove it 100%

-Clear opt out on your email and you must state it's an ad

-Your address and location clearly stated, and no email "harvesting" that is you cannot scrape email addresses off Craiglist for example.

At the end of the day you have to exercise common sense. There's no point promoting to a list who you haven't built a relationship with.

      Sell value, not products.
