Any guide out there on creating linkbait?

I am wondering if there is any SEO guide out there that can give instructions for how to create "link bait" aka material that naturally gets links from other websites.

I know the standard answer is "make good content" but obviously there must be some other tricks for getting backlinks as well. I would like to find a system or maybe just some tips on how to create content whose specific purpose is to get natural links from other websites, blogs, etc.

    It really depends on the niche, try to check out infographics , if done properly you can get some nice backlinks.

    Be the only source of the content. It will definitely make others to link your site. For example develop some quality mobile apps, videos, news, games and so on.

    I’d recommend using different visuals as linkbait sources. For instance, I usually create videos and iconographics for my projects (where applicable) and they are extremely effective for driving traffic to websites. Also contests and giveaways are pretty good linkbait techniques, especially during seasonal sales or right after a new product has been released. Of course, there are more techniques, and some of them rely on content to a great extent, for instance news items or surveys, so one should investigate what kind of linkbait will be the most suitable for a specific nice.

    Linkbait techniques also imply some back-up factors, I mean there should be some established channels for sharing and publishing linkbait content – I’m talking about niche partnerships, relevant sites and groups, social media accounts where you can share any kind of linkbait, which will reach your target audience and drive traffic to your site.
