This is a question I been having for a while. In my case has to be a PR 1 (however the site is ranking pretty high on first page google for a competitive word, and if is of any merit I ranked PR 1 in one month).

How about you?what was strategy? And how long did it take you?

Why do you care about PR?

Just got back from a #BrightonSEO. I was given room 404 in the hotel I stayed at. Couldn’t find it anywhere!

So far PR 3. Been working on it since early December. Got a lot of quality backlinks in my niche by trading links, buying some links, and various relevant forum/news website profile links.

    PR3 for me too.

But its also the first site I've ever built, long before I ever touched SEO.

PR3. I'm not concerned with PR; I'm more concerned with making a profit. I only care about PR when purchasing expired domains.

PR only concerns when you want to do backlinking. Other than backlinking, nothing else. Unless you want to sell links.

I don't build websites, I just buy them, PR6 max so far.

Then I have build one website up to PR5 one day but that was an ultimate spam test with 200k blog comments and 100k xrumer profile links, and voila, a heavily penalized PR5 site was the result.

Now more serious, I build up client sites to PR3 PR4 all the time.

The max I got was PR5 and two sites PR4. These rode high on basis of links from PR8 and PR7 sites but when those links were removed the sites went down in PR as well. PR did affect SERPs but once PR went down SERP stayed.

Highest=3 PR5's, but to be fair I bought them when they were already PR3's. I also have quite a few PR4 Tumblrs & Weebly's. I'm in a love affair with those two sites.

Since bought ones have been included then my highest would be a PR7. Hard to maintain PR at that level so its now a PR6 (still one of my best purchases though - got it for under $300) like several others of my domains.

In actual sites mostly PR5s and below though.

If you need high pr domains then you can check in Godaddy auctions, best place for finding high pr domain name.

But make sure you are bidding on quality and legit pr domain instead of fake pr.

Researching backlinks, domoz, yahoo listing is your own responsibility..

I do not think it pays to buy high PR domains, such domains are expensive, the owners want too much cash. And what if someone buys the domain for a lot of $ and one day will come Google PR update? PR may fall or rise .. A shame that had to pay a lot of dollars to the week indicator Page rank fell down .. This is my opinion.
