Thats crazy. My websites a PMD and followed the drop on the mozcast on 2/26.
A lot of my keywords dropped then about 10-20 pages.

Then where the results come back up on 3/4, my keywords came up maybe 4-5 pages.

Problem is after that, they dropped again. When all my keywords use to be on pages 2-3.

Google is annoying the hell out of me. I don't mind if my keywords drop. Its when they are on pages 2 & 3 for 6 weeks straight, then start dancing out of nowhere.

Just average that shit out and leave my keywords somewhere in between. That way my ranks appear somewhat stable.

I agree, but they do give you a subtle disclaimer up top. Saying that no single # can represent the true complexity of googles algorithm.

If you really wanted to get down to brass tax, they are just another information source, like warrior forum. And both sources are equally vulnerable to containing garbage information.

However, you post on WF, so seriously... I don't see the big deal about moz. Weigh in the fact that they actually try to post valuable content. Then you come to WF and see that 90% of the posts are utter garbage.

Not trying to bash WF, but if anything, it seems like moz has higher standards for the garbage they post rather than this place.

Yet... its ok for you to read & post on here? Am I missing something?

Yes I have noticed a lot of movement in the SERPs in the past 24 hours for my keywords. Unfortunately I lost 3 or 4 rankings for some of my alternate keywords that I was going for. Very annoying as I had been making some real progress and am now racking my brains as to what could have caused the drop. Trying not to worry myself though as this sometimes happens and then rockets back higher than it was to start with.

One interesting thing I did notice was for some keywords I am monitoring closely; Google's image results were displayed as position 3 and are now almost at the bottom of the page. So I am not worried too much about it being a result of 'penalties' as Google wouldn't penalise their own website. It's probably just the value of certain links that effect ranking have changed maybe.

Things have been bouncing for sure. Two sites up, one site down. I expect the one site to come back and the other two to drop. All three sites in the same serp for good keywords. Bottom line - all good. Moral: rank as many sites in the serps as you can for those money-sucking keywords.

Sorry guys, I forgot to mention that the site I am referring to has been around for 14 years and its THE authority site for the niche. I've just noticed that its primary keyword is jumping around like crazy throughout the day.

Yes, I had some sites that doubled visitor counts these past 2 days. Unusual since normal fluctuations don't get that much high.

Yeah everything crazy since the 6th. One site that had been number 1 in its spot for the past 8 month has been unceremoniously dethroned and all other sites are dancing: loosing 3 times its usual traffic one day then regaining a portion, then yesterday one of the site doubled its traffic but has today fallen off the grace. Hopefully this will settle down in a week or two. Spammy sites are rising in my search terms.

Not at all, just went through about 90 sites in my monthly service in SerpFox, and sites that always ranked poor, still rank poor, and sites that always ranked well, still rank well.

So definitely no update that took place.

I have noticed that tripadvisor has taken top rankings for some keywords in one of my niches. Something must be happening because some of the tripadvisor information in the top 3 spots, show out dated information.

"always expect the unexpected" In my case,a real estate niche, I clicked on 3 sites in the top 20 that were expired domains but got there due to exact match domain kws. I just don't get how junk & thin content, few backlinks, and poor design beats a more professional design and thorough content site.

Or did google just leave a blank spot...

You can't have it both ways. You can't work at replacing the sites
that are there, then when your sites get replaced, cry foul. Like,

I know, Paul, I know. And the facetiousness of my post will be lost on that one. What to do? While they're allowed to get away with spamming here, the value that this site can offer will continue to be watered down tremendously.

Seriously, if you're here to learn, don't tout supposed expertise in your signature. I've nothing against questions like that but the sincerity is all too obviously lacking when the higher agenda is a backlink or direct traffic back to a site. The messenger is hardly a shining beacon of light for their services. Even if it's direct forum traffic they're after (and the messenger is a paid minion) then it's little better than the xxx referrer spam I see in my stats from the Ukraine.
