How To Optimize Adsense for better earnings?

Hello everyone,

My name is Bryan, I was wondering how can I optimize adsense to increase my earnings?

Most of my traffic comes from social media sites, mostly Pinterest and FB. I also have a social lock plug in which forces my visitors to like, tweet of google plus my site to reveal my sites content.

My site is over 6 months old. At first I would make a couple cents a day, recently I started making a couple bucks a day, it's not a lot but it was good to see an increase.

Unfortunately the past couple of days I have not made anything from adsense. How can I improve this? I would love any tips you can give me.

Thank you,

Hi Bryan, I will keep this short:
    1. If you want to be successful with Adsense, then focus only upon organic traffic (traffic that flows naturally via search engines). And remember, the more the organic traffic is...the better will be your earnings!
    2. Put your Ads above the fold (one 300px or 336px block would be a gr8 choice).
    3. Blend your Ads (Match the background and link colors to that of your website's)
    4. Don't put more than 3 Ad Blocks on a page (this reduces the CPC)
    5. Keep testing what works for you and give it some time...You will surely kiss success.
    All the best

First of all, dump the forced "Share this page to reveal the content" Java welcome window.

Do you not understand that your locking the Adsense Ads (TOS violation I'm sure (covering Adsense Ads))?

How is traffic supposed to click your Ads, the traffic that could care less about promoting your pages that they haven't even been able to view yet?

      Remove that silly content locker.
I had the content locker to test out if it had any effect on my social traffic and earnings, it worked in the beginning but it died down recently so I just took it off. Thank you.

Try to do some A/B testing yourself, here is a good article: The ABCs of A/B Testing - Inside AdSense

First off you have some tiny ads that are hard to see. I have noticed that people love to click on video ads, but what you have is ads for veer. They are a micro stock that sells photos and not something that would interest the average person.

Google looks at the content of your site to rec ads for you. If you want weight loss ads then do some LSI research and ad content with synonyms to "dieting" to your web pages.

Do an eye tracking heat map. Like you can get a free one month trial from crazy egg. People typically see what is on the top left hand corner. That is where I put my ads near a nav bar and where people click to get more action, as well as near new content that is always at the top - think blogs.

    Keys to increase earnings:
    1) Bigger ads - enable video and flash.
    2) Ads that are of interest to my viewers.
    3) Put ads near nav bar
    4) Links in ad sense at #0000FF and in your regular links are #0000CC - should be the same.
    5) Make the ads part of your content and so not put them in a separate area.
EXTRA - some of the buttons on your nav bar do not work - fix it.

Thank you for the feedback I really appreciate it. Also I've never gotten any complaints about buttons not working, which one(s) did not work for you?

For ad sense to work you need all of this:

    1. Good niche
    2. Targeted keywords and profitable ones too.
    3. Converting landing page..
    4. Good cost per click
    5. Traffic, am more conversant with SEO traffic for my ad sense type of sites..
