More than 50 Internal Links in Homepage

Good day Warriors,

I would like to ask your opinion about having more that 50 internal links in a homepage or in the sub-pages. Is this OK? If NO, please tell me the maximum number of internal links should be used in a homepage or sub-pages.

    There's no maximum number of internal links per page.

    Keep in mind that the Google bot is most likely looking at the page file size (KB), which they used to display in the SERPs a few years ago. The more text/links/images on a page, the larger the file size. I imagine Google has a set limit on the page file size max. or at least a timeout before the bot bails from the page.

    Really 50 internal links on a single page is no big deal. I also wouldn't go overboard with something like 500 links per page, break the pages up into smaller pages so they're easier for people & bots to follow.

      That's true. Using 50 Internal Links is not that much a big deal. It mostly depends on a site. If you have a major site or a E-Commerce website with lots of pages, then the no. can increase from 50 to 400-500 as well.

        Matt Cutts once mentioned that something around 100 should be the maximum, but I'm pretty sure there wouldn't be any penalty even if you have 200. However, if tons of inbound links from your pages, your site may become a bit complicated & difficult to use for your readers.

      There is a video I watched a while ago where Matt Cutts talks about a guideline for the max number of links of a page being around 100. If you search I am sure you can find it. I have over 100 on my home page though and it doesn't seem to effect it a lot. Most of them are no followed though as they are social network share buttons.

    If your site calls for it, you can add more than 50 links also. Just don't add links for the sole purpose of SEO. Google will surely penalize your website.
