First Page Total Domination

So I was wondering if anyone has any experience of owning multiples sites and targeting the same keywords with them all. Is there anything in Googles TOC against doing this? Provided they all have unique content and different backlink sources what is stopping someone having every spot on page 1 with multiple websites?

I've had a few sites with multiple first page rankings, and for some local stuff I've ranked the site and their listings on Yelp etc on the first page. I guess it comes down to two things - The competition and the value of the keyword.

If you find that it's really easy to get on the first page, by all means build out a bunch of sites and rank them. If it's a higher value keyword but more competitive it can also be worth the extra time.

Totally depends on the circumstances, but it's certainly possible to do.

its not a problem to have multiple sites and target same keywords with them but the content on each site should be unique.

To the best of my knowledge there isn't anything in Google's TOS against owning multiple sites which target the same keywords.

I have a handful of sites targeting the same keywords. These include privately registered domains as well as web 2.0s, such as YouTube, Blogpost, Tumblr, etc. In some niches, it is quiet easy to dominate the first ten results with your own properties.

This would be good idea if you take help of web 2.0 sites to create some mini sites, I would say.

Ok that's good news there is nothing in the Google terms of service about it. I had read a few articles by angry webmasters being pushed off the first page by multiple sites owned by the same person and they seemed to think the site owner was breaking the rules. They however didn't provide evidence so it seems they were just butt hurt about being beat multiple times by the same guy. Wanted to double check here first

Thanks for the advice everyone it means I can continue my project without as much worry of the Google police.

Yes you can target the same keyword with multiple website but make sure that website has unique content and you need to create different back-links for each project to avoid confliction at later stage.
