How to ban a undesirable YouTube promoted video?

Hi Guys,

Some years ago I made a video testimonial after losing a small bet. The video was agreed upon to only be added to a websites testimonial page. However the person is now using it also for YouTube promoted videos (pop-ups after and before a video).

I have already contacted YouTube due to privacy infringement and the person that uses the video. Until now the video is still used for advertising.... Are there strategies like using Vagex, etc. to let YouTube ban the video to be uploaded/used to advertise with?

Looking forward to your information.
Regards,
Tempesta

Did you sign an agreement giving this person the right to use the video in any way he wishes? If so, there's probably not much you can do except ask him nicely to remove it from YouTube. If you didn't sign such an agreement then you may be able to claim copyright infringement.

    Interesting question.

I have never used vagex before, I use a different supplier (a 1 man show) that helps me rank a lot of my videos.

However, I know there is a thread on BHW, called "youtube changed the game", I think it was before the new year came in.

And they said that Vagex is shit, and that YT is taking videos down from people who use it. So apparently, Vagex has made it possible now to do negative SEO on other peoples videos.

The thing is, I'm not sure if this would be a guaranteed way of doing it. Like whether the video would come down tommorow, or 2 months from now.

However, if you combine vagex with some terrible mass backlinking, it may get the job done immediately. I also have a ton of YT accounts, and although I've never tried it, you can add icing on the cake by repeatedly flagging the video. If it gets enough negative attention, its bound to get taken down sooner than later.

I should add a disclaimer: This is not a BH forum, I shouldn't even be giving advice like this, nor should you take the advice since I've never tried it.

get 10 friends to complain to youtube, they take action with multiple requests.

just give your friends the link, have them log into their personal (real) youtube account (everyone in the world has one)

    and say like
"this is my real life friend! OMG! he would never make this video!"

or something personal like that, or say stolen from videophone... blah blah.
