So what happens say in this scenario...

1. yo create a new google and blogger account
2. create a blog and post a artcle on it
3. the option pops up to share on google+ ...you have no friends on your google+ account so you click on share with public....

Do people actually see this post to the public?

Does it go on a big notice board?

Or does it not do anything?

Any help?

Thanks

The concept is pretty much the same as facebook and similar social networks. No friends in your social circle = no one will see it. So nothing happens.

  • Legoog,

As Godmode mentions, no; no one will see the post. That being said, when you share posts as public on Google Plus, this means that they can be indexed by google and appear in public searches. By contrast if you share a post with a limited audience then these posts will not appear in organic search. So someone could see your post eventually, its just not appearing in anyone’s feed. If you use your target keywords in the post, it will be more likely to show for those as well.

    Hope that helps,

Social sharing is added as signal in ranking. If your page gets a lots of share then it shows the interest in your page among people.
