Getting approved for Adsense

Adsense noob here. Trying to use adsense to monetize a blog (for starters, so I can get used to it). Really, per Warrior advice, since I'm getting a ton of YouTube subscribers and video views, I'd like to monetize those videos.

Is it normally a pain to get approved by Adsense? I keep getting these types of e-mails within 12 to 24 hours of applying:
Hello, Thank you for your interest in Google AdSense. Unfortunately, after reviewing your application, we're unable to accept you into AdSense at this time.
We did not approve your application for the reasons listed below.
Issues:
-
Insufficient content
---------------------
Further detail: Insufficient content: To be approved for AdSense and show relevant ads on your site, your pages need to have enough text on them for our specialists to review and for our crawler to be able to determine what your pages are about.

I'd like to respond and tell 'em to screw off ... hehe ... I mean, the blog I signed up for has over 100 posts and 30 pages, and none of 'em are 2-3 sentences. They're all quite lengthy with good (original, non-spun) content. When I sign up, should I point them not to the home page, but to a long page with more content?

Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong? Any guidance would be appreciated!

It would be easier to apply for Adsense from your Youtube account.

I guess you own the videos.

Damn ... I can't even YouTube going ... I think it's because there's 1 content claim ID issue on 1 of the 123 videos I've uploaded. So they say they're unable to verify my account (although they've SMS'd me a couple of times already, before).

Is the blog in question hosted on a top level domain? Big G is notoriously hard on free blog-owners trying to sign up for ad sense. I once got approved a site with a homepage and and a "contact us" form. Of course, that .com had been marinating for 6 months...

P.S. Loads of my SEO Clients (check sig) are youtube marketers. Since I offer free domain hosting on most packages, why not PM me if you're interested in killing 2 birds with one stone?

Hi, thanks Kreator. Yes, it's a TLD .org site. I really didn't create this domain for IM purposes. It was strictly for fun, since I like writing and like blogging. I haven't even began the off-page SEO content. It's called We Have Issues and I really haven't even had too much time to develop it lately.. But when I do have time, I like blogging, so figured I might as well try to monetize it, then use other domains for products and services. But the sounds of it, I may be screwed on YouTube 'cause of 1 video, though ... hehe

Adsense has gotten much tougher to get accepted on now. It sounds like it might be an issue with an aged account that has a big black mark on it. Have you had any BIG copyright violations on a YouTube, Blogger or other Google product account before? If that youtube copyright violation you mentioned was "a biggie" then this could be the cause of your rejection.

The problem now is your IP will be logged, and so any new accounts you try and register under will likely be denied as well. It would take some black hat crap with New IP, Name, Addres etc.Which as you know is just better to stay away from....

Hi Petemcal. The domain is new, and at first, I tried to sign up using my jasonpaulweber gmail account, but then I tried my domain account. Yes, in fact I have 132 videos uploaded to YouTube, and one of them got a Content ID violation somehow. But they haven't terminated my account. I haven't decided whether to dispute it or not, but it was just a 30 second clip from Celebrity Rehab that went viral. I deleted it, but then learned that deleting it doesn't do anything.

So I guess I'm pretty much screwed, unless there's an alternative to Adsense! Thanks for the knowledge!

Not sure, adlol ... haven't touched the site in a long time, other than a post here or there ... but I'll optimize all of it. Last time I checked it got a 98 on gtmetrix, 89 on yslow (homepage did), but there's a lot of work to be done when I can put the time in.

Ok, might be because of me being from the UK.

Your YouTube account also seems to have alot of videos taken from news sites, This is a massive problem. Have you got any videos that are actually unique from you? and not sourced elsewhere.

I can understand why you wouldn't get approved from your YouTube account. I don't think any of it is actually unique content.

I think you might need to work on the site a bit more too, first impressions from me in my honest opinion it looked more like an auto blog. The tags cause allot of duplication issues too.

Thanks adlol. I'm not too concerned with the tags being duplicate content. But yeah, the YouTube stuff is mostly forked videos ... some home videos, some videos from friends, but yes, mostly forked stuff that I revised a little. They're mostly from the same person, though, and I have their permission to use the videos.

Oh well ... I'm just surprised that Adsense says that I have no content. There's a lot of content in the actual website! And it's not spun content or anything like that; it's real content. Maybe 'cause I was blackmarked on the YouTube part of things, G put a hit on that domain. Will have to look into things.

I'm always shocked when people get denied from adsense.. I had my site not for very long and had very little content when I applied. I wonder what it is they are looking for before they accept you.
