  • My immediate answer is...

    • How to optimize the speed of WordPress blog for faster loading times
You can use this plugin: WordPress › W3 Total Cache « WordPress Plugins or WordPress › WP Super Cache « WordPress Plugins also reduce the use of 3rd party plugins especially if the function could be integrated directly to the theme.

    • Optimization of WordPress blog by cacheing be it manually or through plugins?
As pointed above, yes, it's more easier using those plugins.

    • How to optimize WordPress database and recommended techniques?
You can regularly optimized database through phpmyadmin. there is an option to do that if you were using cPanel.

    • Recommended non-paid content delivery networks (CDN) for WordPress?
You can use Amazon S3, Cloud Computing Storage for Files, Images, Videos or https://www.dropbox.com/ both of them have a free options for the first agreed amount of disk space used.

    • Making WordPress blog secure be it manually or through plugins?
Better using plugin such as: WordPress › BulletProof Security « WordPress Plugins

    Hope this helps

Thanks for sharing, I vote for bulletproof security plugin.
  • I know that WordPress configuration file (wp-config.php) that includes credentials to user and database can be moved to server's root which makes it hard for hackers to see information in that file. I also heard that there is lockdown plugin that locks access for failed password guessing attempts. This is the kind of security I am talking about and would like others shed some light on.
  • I noticed I got a nice jump in speed on some of my WordPress sites when I exported everything, created a new database and then imported/set everything up again.

It takes a bit of time (although it is not bad once you have done it once), but it is a nice way to clean up a site that had some problems.
  • I recently was recommended a plugin called Better WP Security, WordPress › Better WP Security « WordPress Plugins but will check out the bullet plugin also

    • This is a great plugin, much better then bulettproof security. I tried both, and Better WP Security is the best to secure your wordpress site.

    • There is a thing called "database optimization" which you should do rather than export and import everything.

Do you also use 2 antivirus programs on your computer for "best combination"?
