good day!

just started blogging maybe 2 years ago. and revenues are not that big yet.

sometime early last year. my revenue per day was already climbing to around $2 - $4 sometimes even more per day which was ok since i was relatively new then. this suddenly changed... and out of the blue... it dropped to barely $0.20 per day. i know google changed a lot of things... but volume of unique visitors has not changed for me.

how can i make this revenue grow again? current revenue is at around $0.2-0.6 per day... visitors are even higher than before.

btw, before, i had no idea about seo, now i am using yoast attached to my wp account to help me there.

thanks!

lots of reasons could be behind it:

    seasonality
    economy
    etc

Also try researching about smart pricing.

the thing is... it has been a year since the big drop and it seems that it won't increase anytime soon.

at first i thought it was a seasonal thing last year when it dropped since everyone dropped as well... but in my case, in never got up again.

Could have been one of the Google updates that killed some of your backlinks or maybe some places that were sending you traffic dropped your link. This is why IM should be treated as a business and you should be tracking important information about your sites.

Google Analytics will show you where your traffic is coming from and when traffic slows down, it is easy to see which sources you are losing.

AHrefs.com will show you your backlinks and let you know how many are being dropped and added each week/month

Earning money is nice but KNOWING WHY you are earning money is even better. As an example, using Google Analytics showed me that yahoo answers was actually sending a considerable amount of traffic to my site so I started answering more virus questions there. Now when I get up and check my email, I pop over to Yahoo and see if I can answer a question or two.

      hi there!

thanks for the info that you provided, will check ahrefs.com

i have been using analytics for quite some time already and i basically know where my hits are coming from. one thing that i have noticed is that there was a drop from facebook and google hits... however these were covered by the increase in other hits. basically... from the time that my $2-$4 per day to my current #0.2-$0.6 per day. unique hits are the same.

this is what i can't figure out... hits are the same but revenue dropped by around 90%

      thanks!

Dont forget, hits from one traffic source may be better than others. For example, when I answer a question on Yahoo, it is from someone who is infected with a virus and needs something to fix it. they come to my site and instead of downloading a free program to clean their PC, they take the lazy way out and click on an ad and end up buying something. When I get a click from facebook, it is just someone curious about my site and usually results in fewer clicks so I target Yahoo and dont do too much on facebook.

Every site and niche is different though, for you, facebook might bring in the best people who are willing to click your ads.
