Hey guys,

I'm working on my first website. Never done this before.

I'm from the UK, and obviously I want to target the US, Canada, Australia every single person that can read english, I want visiting my site.

Would anybody here be so kind as to ally my fears on achieving this by giving me advice to ensure that my website would come up highly in these other countries SERPS?

Cheers

    Hi,

If you want to specifically target UK, get a .co.uk domain, host on a UK server and you will get a boost in UK serps.

Since that is not what you want to do, my advice is get a .com domain, host on a US server.

You will have no disadvantage in .com serps.

Obviously that's a bit simple, i have a few .co.uk and .org.uk sites, i only use them when my primary market is the UK. For example i have a number of bingo sites and 90% of the market is UK.

    Hope that helps a little.

They will, if you use this plugin: WordPress › Amazon Affiliate Link Localizer « WordPress Plugins

Just make sure that you sign up to the affiliate program for each country. To be honest, I wouldn't even bother. Actually, I would bother but the difference in earnings is huge. Last month I made £3 from Amazon UK, and $20 from Canada. The USA, on the other hand, is where the real money is at. I'm talking thousands of dollars here.
