Higher CTR with Affiliate Redirects?

Anyone did see an improvement in Click Through Rate after cloaking his affiliate links?
Like mysite.com/go/product or mysite.com/product
I never did it but seems like in my niche everyone is doing it..

    I have been tested all this on several of my sites using affiliate redirect, exit pop up plugin and several other it's just pointless for conversion rate, I had site getting about 900-1K targeting visitors per day from Google and CTR was about 60, site was generating about 6-7 sales $240 per day for CPA offer of $40 commission after I tried exit pop up CTR was around 800 even then conversion rate was much lower 2-3 sales per day, increasing CTR using such a plugin for conversion rate purpose it doesn't work , visitors needs to get pre-sell before they make a purchase, if they just go straight to the affiliate offer without reading and checking entire page 90% they will just close a window or leave your site, to make a visitor to purchase from your site you need really good pre-sell otherwise nothing else will work...
