Custom 404 Error Page

I have a site - www.mayuri.co.in, which is hosted on Windows Server. I have to create a custom 404 error page on my site, so that I have to create a .htaccess file. I am not having any knowledge regarding hosting and webserver. A web developer told me I can't create .htaccess file on Windows server. Then how can i create a custom 404 error on my site? Please help! Thanks in Advance!!

      Here's another tip. If you don't know anything about
      hosting and servers, you should not be web developer.

  • It's done in ASP.NET.
    It may need server access, so a VPS or dedicated only.
    I've never tried to make a custom 404 from a shared account.

    It only has htaccess if using some like Helicon Ape or Micronovae IIS Mod Rewrite.
    Even then, you don't add 404's in htaccess.
