Question RE GoDaddy Domain Buying Service: Offer Made on Domain I Recently Bought @ GoDaddy Auctions

I bought a PR2 domain on GoDaddy Auctions last week and I received an email from GoDaddy's Domain Buy Service last night telling me that an offer has been made on the domain. I checked this morning and it's a $200 offer

The current offer for XXXXXXXXX.COM is: $200

This initial offer can be accepted right away! If you feel this is an acceptable offer, click "Accept Offer" so we can get started with the payment and transfer process. As soon as the process is completed you'll have a little more money in the bank. It's that easy!

If this offer isn't quite what you are looking for, click "Counter Offer". We'll contact the buyer to see if they are willing to meet your desired price, or generate a new offer. This way you can let the buyer know exactly what you would like to receive for XXXXXXXXXXX.com (MY DOMAIN).
If I submit a counter offer and the buyer isn't willing to accept it, can the price go back to their initial offer of $200 for me to accept? Does anyone here have experience using this "Domain Buying Service"?

Thanks!

You can always send a counter offer for a more reasonable price.

$200 for a PR2 domain is not worth it.

They offered me $200 as an initial offer. I don't think the buyer cares about domain authority metrics. My guess is they were the original owner and would like the domain name back.

I think the OP is being offered $200 from someone who wants to buy the domain off him.

Looks like you've got lucky that someones willing to pay that price for it!

Not sure if their original offer stands if you make a counter offer and they refuse it, however i know that you can push the domain to auction using their offer as a starting bid. This may be your best bet if you are trying to push the price up as much as possible.

I think I read it wrong, so you already bought the domain and now its yours?
and now godaddy has contacted you that someone is trying to buy that domain?

Well I think that's a good deal, try negotiating for more. I they wont bite, just accept the offer, its already profit for you anyway.

Definitely a good deal already but if there is no risk of not getting at least the initial offer in the end of it all I will submit a counter offer. Just wanted to make sure of how this process works.

Thanks for the link aliduncan. If the outcome ends up being me pushing the domain to auction I'd imagine that Godaddy would notify the buyer since they showed an interest in the domain originally.

    Hey Micksss,

Glad you got a good price for your domain Sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner, if you already got your answer then I apologize for the duplicate info in advance. Offers in either direction are good for seven days once the negotiation is established (Private offer / counter offer) regardless of a counter being made. ^Colby Go Daddy Social Media Team
