Increase Page Rank with Blog Comments?

If I were to use Scrapebox to find PR3+ doFollow Blogs to manually comment on, and have an anchor text back to my site. If I do a lot these, say like 5 or 10, will my Page Rank increase?

I'm actually trying to increase the Page Rank of my Web 2.0

    Yeah, it can defiantly increase pagerank, but I wouldn't suggest this to be your only form of backlinks.

    Since it is a Web 2.0 I wouldn't be as worried of Google slapping it in a future update. After all, I always seem to see spam web 2.0s ranking above me for review keywords. It's like Google is praising them over sites with true quality content.

      The 2.0's tend to have a ton of authority, which is probably why it's a little hard to outrank them. (Especially if you're trying to rank brand new domains.)

      I just use that to my advantage and try and funnel the traffic to my site. At the very least I may end up with 2 "pages" ranking in the top 10.

      Or even a part of your link building strategy. Serious question here, why are you bothering with blog commenting as a "link building strategy"?

      Have a read through some of the threads here - there are a million better ways to approach link building. Granted, they take effort and persistence, but the results are far superior if you are willing to put the time in and you actually have the focus and determination to make it work.

          It depends on your approach but where it's done right, no of course not - just create good content, post it on strong authoritative domains, get a link back to your website.

          Seriously, for all the hundreds of thousands of words contributed to this section of the Warrior Forum each day, if people just read the single paragraph above and actually put some f'ing effort into their link building, they would be about 10x further ahead a few months down the line.

          Then again, you can't account for the seemingly innate ability of human nature to always try and opt for/look for the easiest possible solution to the most complex of problems.

          In short, spend all your time, days and energy hunting out guest posting opportunities or build a (private) blog network (find out how to do this first, it takes an understanding of how it actually works), or if you want to be a little lazier just join a guest posting network i.e. MyBlogGuest.com and post content. Unique content. Decent content.

          This. stuff. doesn't. need. to. be. difficult.

    Yeh it definitely works. It worked for a new domain I had at least. I only got about 5 of them. All of them had a pr between 3-5. I also had about 20 low quality/prna blogger/wordpress/live journal backlinks.

    My first pr update I went from prna to pr1. Which was a nice jump. So if I kept doing it, I would probably have a higher pr by now. The thing is, it didn't do anything to improve my rank. And thats when I realized pr is useless, so are blog comments, I and started backlinking for SERP rank, rather than PR rank.

    Now my PR is the exactly the same, but my site rank is exponentially higher. =]

    Apart from blog comment, what I have seen is directory submission also helps in increasing page rank, well, it doesn't send traffic but if you do regularly directory submission, you would be able to increase page rank too.

    Yes they will, mainly if they are do-follow with low OBL and the PR is for the actual page, not the website.

      How can you people say it works? There is no such thing
      as dofollow, you know nothing about the blogs, nothing
      about whether google will ever see the link, much less
      count it.

      Why are you people so quick to predict what google will do?

      They have already said, repeatedly, that pages that allow links
      in blog comments are junk, in a round about way. They even
      ban adsense on them.

      Now I am all for a tad bit of blog commenting now and then.
      But if you think you can predict PR rising from some blog comments,
      and not just predicting, but saying YES, then you people are
      beyond. I mean way out there.

      And the kicker is, we know nothing about the OP's site in the
      first place. We don't know what kind of good or bad things
      he's doing.

      No wonder so many people lose money on WSO's. They
      believe the YES men.

        I guess people just want to increase their posts.
        I don't think there's anything left to talk about Blog commenting. When a blog is allowing comments to be posted randomly, it is like ly to be spammed soon.

          Which is why you should avoid commenting on blogs that automatically approve comments. It's not that tough getting a comment approved on a moderated blog. Just comes down to posting something that you'd approve on your own blog.

          I get plenty of comments on my blogs and approve the ones that are relevant. I instantly disapprove the "thanks great posts!" comments though.

        First time I've ever heard this. I've looked over their Terms and Conditions and Program Policies several times. I never noticed anything stating this.

        I'm not saying you're wrong, but it would be great to have a link where it states that pages containing blog comments with links aren't allowed.

      Yes, this definitely works, just avoid those pages that already have hundreds of outbound links. The more OBL's there are, the less link juice will be transferred to your own blog.

    In theory yes, your PR will increase over time (maybe in 3-4 months), but in the meantime, your rankings should improve pretty quickly.

    Some of my best links are from blog comments on Matt Cutts' blog Graphic art and photography blogs are another good source of blog comment links.

    Do a Google search on "best photography blogs" and have a look. You will often find posts with PR3 or PR4 with comments still open.

    Yes, PR will increase but you need to comment on blogs with low OBLs (<10 preferably) to minimise the number of comments required. Otherwise it may take a lot of time and effort.

      The only way you're going to get hundreds of links a day via blog commenting is through automation, which is definitely a no-no.

    Acquiring links from quality domains with good PR can definitely help in increasing your site’s Page Rank. Blog commenting can be effective as long as your comment is valuable. But we don’t recommend it. Aside from the reason that most sites are moderated, it is also time consuming. Deleted links would cause negative link velocity.

    But leaving all those out of the equation, yes, the chances of your page rank increasing will be higher.

    Yes you can use Scrapebox along with Blogs to try and accomplish an increase.

    1. In the keyword scraper, enter keywords related to your niche. Scrape, get the results and hit Add To Main Keyword List.

    2. Select the blogs the blogs you intend to target, then click Start Harvesting

    3. Choose the type of blogs you want to target and press Start Harvesting.

    Then go into the right side of the Harvester window to Remove/Filter > Remove Any Duplicate URL's

    And then you can Check Pagerank and Get URL Pagerank; you need to know the page rank of the URL you're gonna leave comments on.
    Then organize it by page rank, and get rid of the low page rank URL's. Usually I don't keep anything under PR4, but you can go down to PR2, it's good enough.

      You can save yourself some time in the long run by also doing a blog analyzer check (to remove any results that are closed for comments) and an "active" check. Meaning, trim all of your results to root, plug them into the search harvester, add the "site:" command in front of them, and have Scrapebox only harvest posts from within the past 30 days. You can then "compare" them with your results on a domain level and remove any that haven't been updated in the past month. You can also set this to 7 days, 24 hours, etc.
