Drip Feeding Backlinks????

This could be a very stupid question, but what are drip fed backlinks? I have been hearing more about drip fed backlinks, but I can't really find a "definition" of what drip fed backlinks are..... I have done a small search but can't find a good chunk of info on it.

Is this a practice I should be implementing into my SEO? Can someone give me a brief overview of what they are?

Thank you!!!

Drip feed means build almost same amount of backlinks everyday and not blasting links like 10,000 links in a day. As google rank site higher, by drip feed means you build backlinks everyday like 5-10 backlinks a day. This is natural.

  • Sorry if I necro the thread, but instead of opening a new thread. Can anyone explain how long should I drip feed backlink? Should I do it regually or do it for 1-2 months and thats it?

    • SEO is a continuous process, and you shouldn't stop link building once you achieved your desired rankings. As there are many competitors who are targeting same keywords like yours so if you stop then you would be easily outranked. You should continue to build your links so that you can stay ahead form your competitors and maintain your current rankings.

    • You shouldn't drip feed links at all. Ever. Waste of time. Despite what others say, there is nothing natural about it. Link spikes are much more natural than a site getting XXX links per day, week, or month.

Seo is the process which continues for several months,so you need to do quality work for website promotion and keyword ranking. You can also use smo to promote your business and also to get website traffic.
  • Just create high quality valuable content and get the word out their and people will want to link to you. you can reach out via email also but again no one will want to link to you if your not providing a great amount of value. Unless im wrong then someone please tell me because im still in the learning stages of seo.

    • Drip feeding only makes sense when you build spammy links.

Instead of getting 500 links in 1 day, you spread it out over the course of a month. That may look a little bit better, but it's still spammy links which don't help much.

If you are getting good quality links, it doesn't matter. Think about what happens when something big happens, such as releasing an article that lots of people are interested in. You will get a lot of links in a short period of time. But since they are natural links, they are ok.
