Seeking Advise

Hi all, after a bit of help with regards to the likes of Tumblr and Pinterest. Basicly I have a site that is currently receiving a fair amount of traffic from Google images, so I was wondering weather I could improve on the traffic that I'm already generating on google with the likes of tumblr and pinterest.

The questions I have
1) should I be placing the images that I have on my site on Tumblr and pinterest and linking them back to my site homepage or the post they are on.

2) Should I be posted new images on Tumblr and pinterest and linking to my site.

Sorry for being should a noob when it comes to theses two, but I'm just looking for a bit of help.

    I would say yes, the more exposure you can get for your images the better and backlinking them from those social sites is also a good idea. The page you link them to is up to you however you should have the image on the landing page.

      Cheers shawn, just read through that article and it has some good info there. I will do a bit of trail and error with both Tumblr and Pinterest over the next week or so and see how I get on.

    If you put the same images to your social profile, those images in Google Image results may "take over" the spots of the same images pointing to your website => you lose traffic.

    I would just keep adding images to the content on the website, but make sure you own those images to make sure you won't get in any trouble with copyrights. (not a cheap game)

    Also what helps me is Flickr. You will get a good amount of traffic from their too. Create a profile their. Follow a few people, add them to your friend list. Upload images, and then you add a link to your page in the description of the image.
