I'm so confused. I build backlinks for my website everyday.
But i think they are all low quality.

I get backlinks from these ways as following:

Social bookmarks,forum signature,directory sites,articles submission,social networks and more.

Original content?
#search engine optimization #backlinks #high #quality
  • You're wasting your time.

    Build authority, not links.

    • And how you wanna do that without links huh?

Jees people would you please stop giving bad advice about create great content and people will link to your site THAT AIN'T GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!! So please stop with misinforming people who have questions like this.

@OP you have a view options to get better value links, comment on High PR blogs, create press releases, get yourself a private blog network, build a network of web 2.0 properties and link those to your sites, create video's, create PDF's and upload these to PDF sharing sites, Create a powerpoint presentation and upload these to powerpoint sharing sites.

But do yourself a favor don't create great content (which in itself is good of course) and wait for other people to link your stuff, i have been in IM for many years and the times that people have linked to my sites with "great content" is under 5%, it just ain't going to happen.
    • Not links, build authority!

It is ok, but how to build authority?

      thanks
    • [DELETED]
  • Yes they are low quality 'junk' links. They're good for foundation work, especially if you run those through a quality web 2.0 site like hubpages or squidoo, and they point to your site.

It isn't about the number of links any more. It's about the quality, and the fact that other actions on the internet support your backlinks... So you'd expect social sharing at the same time as backlink growth.

The best way to do this is to find questions that people need answers to, and build content that people will really want to share, because it's so useful to them.

  • If your site's content is original, interesting and somewhat innovative, other content authors would want to link to the site.
    • [1] reply
    • Yep, most would want to link to a website which offers original content, interesting and somewhat innovative but they would not link to a site that has no authority and does not exist (buried deep within Google's). Therefore, this may not be viable. Unless you are willing to make a deal and pay for a quality link.
  • If you are bulk-spamming links, it's best to point those spammy links to your Tier 1 links.

Don't just point all your links straight to your domain.
  • Guest blogging is good method of getting high quality backlinks, there is no doubt to it really, if you are doing guest blogging then you are building relevant and quality backlinks to your website without any doubt.
  • create your own web2.0's and start bloggin unique content that links back to your main site, and put some links towards your 2.0's that what i have been doing and it works pretty well
  • you should also consider sound submission, pdf submission, video submission and PPT submission..
  • Try to build more links from guest posting and web 2.0 sites. You may also do blog commenting to niche sites and be active on related forums. Use social media as well.
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • Creating content which people like to link back is best way to creating quality backlink. Content marketing is best way to deal with it. You should write high quality articles, blogs for the niche of your domain.
Creating solutions for the issues or problems your users might have always results trust, expertise and source of reference what search engine expect from your link building activities. People like to share your site and link if it is published in form of tutorial or a practical tool.
Research and statistics also serve this purpose. You need to turn them out into useful formats for the target audience. These methods make your credibility and increase visibility. Offering a number of solutions for different problems in particular niche could be shared through blog which continuously affect the reputation.
Last but not the least - Few times back I was reading an interview of Google Employee (Matt Cutt's Team) they have a very straight forward point of view: Your each activity, submissions should be responsible towards its users, don't do any so called submission just for the sake of search engines is the key for getting greater visibility, trust, branding.
For me it is a very simple formula - Search engines will do my value addition as much and that short of what I contribute to web, what kind of contribution I am doing.

    • If it has been penalized by google, it might be best to start the site again on a new domain.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks

  • High quality backlinks mean creating fresh original content (if your contents are not of good quality, the social media won't care about what you're doing) and acquiring links from different types of high authority domains - press release, video, document sharing, blog posts, HPBL, etc. Build links slowly and continue building links to keep link velocity.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • You should always track how effective is your backlink building campaign going by checking the position of your keywords that you are targeting. By doing this, you will get to know what kind of links are working and what not.

And from next time concentrate on building links which contributes towards positive ranking movements. You will learn some specific links will work better for certain niche and website where as some may not be that effective. Once you continue doing this you will get a clear idea about your link building blueprint.
  • Try to participate in a lot of forums as this gives quality backlinks to the website. Other ways would be blogs and article posting, blog commenting, social bookmarking and directory submissions on high Page rank sites
  • Best is outsource it to experts. If you need help, pm
  • If you comment in high page rank then it is considered as high quality back link ... not only page rank but it should niche website ....

    • Google has been the LAMBO of the engines for ages, those are the old times. I think Larry Page and Sergey switched from LAMBO to Bugati pre-penguin and post panda..oh well. For research purposes just take a look at my sig (I just don't find many people suggesting specifics as of now) and after you see what's involved for google ranking, do it on your own if you've the time. Pays long term to take a few years to do it solo

I'll stay away from anything that says "ranked top of google" in 2-3 days or at least be very cautious to those type of links suggested by those who acquired rankings that fast for their clients, rankings are often artificial and often disappear in a few weeks. Keep in this forum sub-category, among my favorites, do-follow forum posts. They bring social signals and increase keyword phrase rankings quite fast to the targeted page.

Once you have good interesting content people will share it which naturally gives you links and helps build authority.
  • You need QUALITY links. Their number is NOT important. You need related websites (to your niche!), do-follow if possible and with HIGH authority (*if you can find any!)
  • Don't waste your time on linkbuilding.. concentrate more on adding authority to your website or blog... guest blogging is the best way to increase your website/blog authority and also increases your brand awareness... guest post on high authority sites within your niche as the readers will be interested to read your blog post and visits your blog to see what benefits you can provide them...
  • I admit that I don't know the answer. But apparently no one else does either. Look at the posted replies - just about all are of the "you need quality, not quantity" variety. Well, the OP knows that. Just look at the title to this thread.

If we can all agree that high quality backlinks are backlinks from high PR, relevant, and authority web pages, then exactly how do you get these high PR, relevant, and authority web sites to link to you?

Another typical reply is to write quality content that others would want to link to. Well, how will other web sites know about your quality content? How do you inform them?
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

  • There are many tactics that are quality links, like finding pages that have high page ranks and getting your link on those, finding pages that are helping other pages rank on top of Google and getting your link on those. Also, guest posting on high PR sites helps a lot. Let's chat!
  • Guest posting on high Pr relevant websites, press release submissions or you can create a tier 1 of web 2.0 and let them age for a bit

The third option is the hardest as it takes time and dedication
  • I don't think you are wasting your time as long as the links you are generating are related to your web page. If the forum signature link pointing to your website is from a related forum, it is worth. However, the forum inner pages do have low PR (don't confused with the home page PR of the forums). You should promote your website through social media platforms and that will create a brand.

  • Here is one little secret to getting quality/top back links from reputable sites using content syndication.

Write good articles in your niche on different topics, like if you are in SEO write good articles on topics people love to know about like panda, penguin, Google updates, link diversification, SEO 2012 and more and get them on high traffic blogs, directories and sites like Squidoo, hubpage and others. Continue doing this and watch how your articles will be syndicated across good quality sites.

Don't forget to guest blog, comment on low OBL blogs, build a personal network and more.

    Good luck.

    • This is not going to be beneficial in any way. Building backlinks naturally can pass on more benefits than using such services.
  • You should concentrate on fresh contents and links with high PR sites. Top 20 article and press release sites are good to get backlinks. On approved articles you can do social bookmarking. Links from 2.0 and guest posting are quite effective.
  • I agree. They all sound low-quality to me (except for a few directories like Yahoo! and BOTW).

I think you need to completely re-think the way that you approach SEO.

If you want to rank for serious terms, social bookmarks and article directories aren't going to get you there. Period.
  • Forget building links and build more content - targeting long-tail terms that are easy to rank for.

If you don't want to spend too much time, and you don't want to spend too much on content to get accepted by guest post sites then you're better of by just buying high PR blog posts from someone. Just make sure you do a little bit of research first.

400 blog posts for $40,- or 150 blog posts for $5 at Fiverr will hurt your site sooner or later cause such network have a huge deindex rate, I know cause I tried it myself with my own tier 2 network and within 3 months 15 domains were deindexed. That network is 100 sites large, how many sites do you think are left after 1 year? Nopes nada exactly.

That's why you see people selling high PR blog posts for $6-$8 that stay for a long time on the homepage and that are surrounded with unique well written content.

Total bargain if you ask me!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Using the original article, High PR backlinks and do this continuously,,
  • The key is QUALITY over QUANTITY!

Gone are those days where 500 backlinks helped your rankings, regardless of their quality.

That being said, Fiverr does still have a few guys selling quality backlinks, you just need sift through a lot of bad gigs to find them.

    • Really, so 500 PR 4/5/6 links will not rank your site, again really???????
  • I still appreciate all the help, I know how tough the backlinking game is....so regardless of difference of opinion, all is appreciated
  • Try to get backlinks from High domain authority sites. Building authority means built links with sites having high DA(domain authority).

  • Just wanna warn you, about competition that you targetted. If it's reasonable to beat and good ONpage SEO, a little backlinks (although it's that good ol' backlinks) it will boost you to page #1.

Then, you just reverse engineering your competitors backlinks.

    Good luck.
