Have i been google slapped?
I tried to set up a new adwords accoutn for one of my old domains and every word i put in has a £5 ($10) minimum bid.

What has happened and can i get round this????

    Hmm... have you tried doing some trial like putting word that is not in dictionary? If the price is still high then there might be a glitch...

      I just typed in the word monkey and that keyword is active on my .40 cpc.

        I would have a look at Google's quality score guidelines and see if you can improve those bid prices by improving your page.

          Google does not think your landing page matches the keyword phrase you are bidding on.

          Some tips that might help.

          Use only one keyword phrase per ad group.
          Use the keyword phrase in the ad title and body of the ad if possible.
          make sure your landing page is optimized for the keyword phrase you have choosen.

          On your landing page, make sure there are links to other pages like about us, contact us or a sitemap. This will make your page seem more like a legitmate web page.

          If you are using a squeeze page as a landling page, make sure you provide
          the visitor somewhere to go if they do not opt in. Google now frown on pages that force the visitor to opt in to get the information they were searching for.

          Google annouced that have more to real time evaluation of quality scores.
          Making the suggested changes should boost your quality score enough to remove the slap.
