Basic Youtube SEO Question

Does having a well established youtube channel automatically help boost new videos that you publish in terms of SEO?

For instance,

I have a youtube channel that is about home repair and working with contractors. That particular play list I upload to is doing fairly well.

I have a separate playlist targeting people that want to buy property, namely first time home buyers. This channel is new and I have not yet published any videos to it yet. And the audience I am targeting is completely different, which is important to note because it is unlikely many of the followers I have on my home repair channel will be interested in the content targeted towards first time home buyers.

With that being said will the existing rankings I have for my home repair channel help boost SEO of videos I add to my new first time home buyers channel?

Thanks

I can't say for sure if it "automatically", will help boost your videos but I have noticed that when I tested this theory on a few of my channels (uploading the exact same video to 3 seperate channels) I noticed an immediate difference in which channel video ranked the highest....it was the one with the most videos.

But who knows, that could have been a total fluke. Haven't tested it with enough videos over a specific amount of time to say for sure.

It would stand to reason that if you have a lot of videos on one channel that have high viewer retention, views, comments...etc that the channel PR itself would start to raise.

Sidenote: I've not found a YouTube video or channel that has ranked above a PR 3 yet. (of course I've only looked at competitive LOCAL terms).

Yes a strong channel helps particularly if you can get PageRank for your channel by doing things like commenting on other popular videos

Adding useful comments to other popular videos will help raise the page rank of your own videos? I was under the impression all links on youtube were nofollow.

Unless you are just attempting to get people to naturally click through and check out your site just by commenting.

Internal links still count only external are nofollow is my understanding. Regardless my experience is that this helps videos rank so I'll keep doing it.

Youtube likes it when you link to other youtube videos in your description and when you create playlists, encourages people to stay longer on their site

Spot on both of these can work well.
