I had no luck there. Some do though I think. It is a lot like Adwords, there is a steep learning curve which involves testing.

Not much success for me either

They seem to only be good to a certain select few people.

I tried Adbrite, but not much into advertisers that allow pornographic websites in their network.

Adbrite sucked for me. They then started inserting ads which made startling noises. Filed a complaint, it wasn't resolved so I ditched them.

I think the question was more from an advertisers point of view (not puplusher). Here was a test of ppc networks and adbrite came out pretty bad: The 13 Pay Per Click Network Challenge | CDF Networks

Nevertheless, I would be interested how they did if someone really tested them.

I tried adbrite for a while and was very disappointed with it.

Like some people already said, I guess the thing with adbrite is that
they don't inspect the content on their publisher sites.

For instance, when I was running a campaign I found that my ads
were being published on torrent sites.

And I don't think their placement mechanism works too well either
because I've had ads of one niche being placed on totally irrelevant
websites in another niche that I hadn't even selected in the targeting
      options.

I am yet to try site targeting though. Hopefully that will give better
      results.
