Are Web 2.0/Social Bookmarks still useful if...

Hi all,

If I'm going down the route of a PBN with high PR sites, is there any advantage to still posting on Web 2.0/Social bookmarking/Directory sites?

Please take into account the time that it takes to make posts vs the amount of link juice that will go to the money site - I am aware that they will still make a difference, I just want to know whether the time is worth it compared to the results i can get from posting to my PBN.

    Yes, Web2.0/Social Bookmarks still work.
    How can I say that, I am seeing lots of services with the good results containing these methods.
    So, be sure and don't use the low quality sites!

      Yes they are helpful. I'm sure you've read or will read that some 2.0 sites are going NOFOLLOW but who cares.


      They are great sites, and if you build them right they will help your efforts.

        I have no doubt that they work.

        My question is really is there any point on spending time on them, when i could be spending time creating high PR backlinks from my own high PR PBN.

        There are only so many hours in a day, and I want to know where my efforts are going to be best spent.

          I know how you feel. I too feel like the amount of time and money for quality content it takes to setup web 2.0s would be better well spent creating another site in my high PR arsenal. I've been slacking on the web 2.0 front so I'm always looking for quality services that create them and do a good job with the content end too...I do think it's worth it to have both types in your profile to mix things up.

    If you are using high PR sites to send links to your site, you have to use web 2.0s, wikis, social bookmarks, etc to deoptimize your anchor text...otherwise youre gonna get smacked for over optimization...

    if its the time it takes youre worried about, get a tool to help...

    Web 2.0 definitely work but you must social bookmark them in order to get them indexed.

    Secondly you must create backlinks to those web 2.0 properties in order to give them link juice boost.
