how google displaying mobile version in desktop search?

One of my client website ranking's are getting dropped because of mobile version displaying in Google Search Engine Results Page(SERP) desktop. i.e. m.domainname.com. How mobile version is displaying in google search desktop? How do i retain my keyword position? Need Help in this regard. Thanking you in Advance.

      The easiest and best way to avoid this problem is to employ user-agent detection on your website. This way, when Googlebot (desktop) visits your site, your server can serve the desktop version to the search engine and the correct desktop version is indexed. If Googlebot mobile visits your site, then your server can display the mobile version of your site which will be indexed for displaying to users surfing on mobile devices.
