Terrible Organic Search CTR

Warriors!!

I am ranked 1.1 (according to Google webmaster) for a keyword generating 300 impressions a day. But, I get maybe one or two clicks a day, which translates to a sub 1% click through rate.

This is TERRIBLE. Being ranked 1 for this term, I would expect a higher CTR.

Just consider this a warning, that ranking at the top of Google does not necessarily translate to a lot of search engine traffic.

  • Depends on the keyword. a #1 spot might be under 7 local search results. How many visitors are you getting a day according for Google Analytics?
  • You might want to change your Title and meta description. Seems like they aren't enticing visitors to click on your site from the search results.

    • change your theme it looks like the visitor don't like your layout. Or do you have too many other banners and sidbar promotions so the visitor clicks more on the other offers than on adsense ads.
