Since the domain get penalized, it better to get a new domain for your site , and build in quality and unique content and start from the bottom again .

You have no choice to give out the domain name because once it penalized, it hard to set our domain free from penalized in the short time. You can check the tips from matt cutt, that it usually take sometime .

Oh don't get them started on the EMD update

Your sites were de-indexed? Or a manual penalty? Or you just dropped in the SERPs? Thin sites? A site doesn't get penalized just for being an EMD, in fact there isn't really an EMD penalty Google just reduced the auto-boost it used to provide. Need more info.

an EMD alone wont get you penalized. there must be other issues with your sites.

Content and backlinks. Do the onsite work. No more free rides, your site will have to earn that spot back. Are they buried in the serps?

The fastest way to recover is to deindex each of your websites, take the content, place it on another website (aged, high PR domain if possible), start over, and make sure you don't do whatever caused the penalty again.

Don't waste your time trying to bring the domains back. In most instances it will be easier and faster to start over.

I agree with this approach since it's the fastest way to get back. Waiting around is a losing proposition.

It would be better to create a new website than to try to recover especially from an algo penalty.

Guys... read the thread. The site doesn't have a penalty, it just lost some ground. Why would they build another site??

And can I just say that taking the content off a penalized site (this one is not) and putting it on a new site is like wearing the same wedding dress to your first and second weddings.... just wrong IMO

Be smart, start adding more content. You will get your rank back if you update your site on a consistent basis. You don't have to writes loads of articles, just add an article once a month to your domains.

I have a few small niche sites and they never got penalized and I'm pretty sure it's because I always add a 700-1000 unique article once a month. If you update, even just once a month, it will keep your sites looking fairly fresh and your playing the safe game.

Don't expect a 5 page or 10 page site to rank forever because it wont happen, Google is clamping down on thin affiliate sites.

    Hope it helps
    Regards

These are the stupidest ideas I have heard of.

The site is not penalized. There is no proof it was penalized. It just lost the EMD bonus and lost a few spots in the rankings.

      Start over... morons.

This. There's only one thing worse than an EMD nowadays: an EMD with a load of backlinks with the exact match keyword as anchor text. Vary the anchor text with quality manual links and you may see a boost.
