I just receive an email from Google Adsense about an
Adsense update coming soon;
Here is an excerpt from the email

Hi,

We'd like to inform you that, starting April 23, we'll be updating the AdSense Terms and Conditions to make sure they're up to date and in line with other Google product policies.

When logging in to your account after this date, you'll see a notification that presents you with the updated Terms and prompts you to accept them. You'll be able to skip this notification until May 23. After this 30-day period, one of your account administrators must accept the updated Terms in order for you to access your account and use the AdSense product.

Here's a brief overview of what's changing:
  • With this new version of the Terms and Conditions, our goal has been to make them as clear and transparent as possible. As a result of this, we hope that it'll be even easier to navigate and find what you're looking for.
  • With mobile being one of the big trends in 2013 and beyond, we're expanding our Terms to cover mobile properties more specifically. We've also incorporated guidelines for using the AdMob SDK and other publisher products.
For those that have Adsense site or depend on making money from Adsense just be aware of this T & C coming up and not go against their rules, end up losing your Adsense account.

Does that also imply that all sites using adsense should be mobile friendly ?

I think that means "should" as opposed to "must". I guess we are going to have to include elements that are mobile friendly or lose out on significant revenue.

...Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just set there.

I don't see that it says anything that could remotely construed as that. It just says that their T&Cs are being expanded to more adequately cover mobile sites.

    I got the same email.

Just because a site is mobile ready doesn't mean much, not all niches care about mobile.

It's not an update. There's no panic. There's is
      nothing new.

Has nothing to do with mobile in and of itself.
People are idiots and think, "gee, google says nothing
about mobile sites, so...I can break the rules!"

Stupid people. Google staes emphatically that they
cannot spell out every signle thing. Logic is involved.
Of course, I have always been in favor of prospective
adsense users taking an IQ test, and/or banning
      countries.

If you are not breaking the rules now, you have nothing to
      worry about.

I don't do mobile sites. I hardly ever view mobile sites on my
smart phone. I hate them. I like the full web page.

I imagine as people step into the 21st century, they'll do the same.

Oh at least I don't have to worry about that as I found out a new unique way to get rid of your Google Adwords and Google Adsense account at the same time.

Just delete your Google+ profile :S

And then those smart asses say oh you can delete it if you have an additional email that you registered for Adsense/Adwords. Obvious I had cause these accounts are like 8+ years old when Google+ didn't even exist.

Then trying to login with my original e-mail, impossible.
Then trying to recover using my original e-mail, and then it says you can not use this email to recover as that e-mail address is attached to your adsense/adwords accounts.

    What the F*CK

Then there is an alternative way that involves like a 1000 questions and after that an email with a request to provide additional information. WHAT additional information after providing birth of date, birth place, telephone number, addresses, emails, secret question answers, how long I used Adsense, when I signed up for Adwords and what not.

    Seriously f*ck you Google

I would get a response within 3 days. Right now 7 days have passed by and obvious nothing.

Lol, why would you delete the G+ account, why would it matter If you left the account active?

I have a hotmail as a backup email, I probably should add a 3rd (maybe yahoo) email just to cover my azz in case hotmail ever flaked out.

I did get locked out of my Google account once (before G+), I was freaking out (LMAO) trying to remember which hotmail I used for the Google account backup, I finally figured it out & they let me back into my Google account. It was a defiantly a Google screw up because I never changed my password before they locked me out.

    $hit happens...

      happens...
Well, my mom uses my Youtube account so every time that I want to check something at Youtube I automatically get logged in through that old account (only when I'm logged in at Google+ and that login process also happens automatically when I login at Webmasters/Adwords or Adsense) and some message saying that someone else have logged in from a different location and asking if that was me. Annoyed the hell out of me.

My mom has made all kind of play lists that she don't want to lose so I decided to delete all of the accounts except for the Youtube one.

Now you might ask, why the hell is she using your Youtube account? Probably cause I was visiting and was logged in at Youtube and she said something like: "Oh how nice, you can find that song for me?". Then some time ago Google+ kicked in and my mom phoned me and was all hysteric that she couldn't login at Youtube anymore, cause now the log in changed from my hotmail address to my gmail address. So yeah obvious I HAD to provide that cause of the play lists that she gathered through the years.

And no, I do not live in my moms basement LOL

Ha, ha, I seriously was going to say something like that when I first started reading your post.

BTW, you can copy any playlist on Youtube by logging into the new account, visit the old accounts playlist & copy to the new account, I think it's 1 click per playlist. YT likes to change things, I guess it still works.

I will send you her phone number, then you can explain it.

Last time that I tried such thing it ended up in not talking to each other for 3 years.

          :p
