Hello, in this days i have seen some problems of one of my website. I have urls like example.com/news_details.php?news_id=14 . So i understand that perfect one will be example.com/wow-awesome-post

So what to do? Can i rank also websites/links with this kind of problems? Or is better to move on fresh new website that are seo friendly? Becouse it take a lot, and have too much cost to fix this kind of issue. What you think is better to do in my cases, please help me out with this. Many thanks

No worries, Google will index your pages just fine, just the adress bar won't show a search engine friendly url, that`s all. But of course, that will affect your rankings as a competitor's page, considering has the same quality as your page, same backlinks etc, will rank higher having SE friendly URLS .

Doesn't seem like a huge deal. Google is paying less attention to stuff like this and focusing more on quality user experience anyway.

I'd spend more time focusing on building quality content. There's also the chance you can hire a programmer and have them create an htaccess script for you, to clean up your URLs.

URLs are a big deal (a very BIG deal).

Get the URLs setup first for whatever you want them to look like, your 2nd example is more user friendly, traffic doesn't have a clue what ?news_id=14 is.

You don't want to be changing URL structure after pages are already ranking, especially If your not familiar with 301 redirects, which should only be used when all else fails.

Is it me or is the solution simple and in front of you all that time. When you have an url looking like your first example and I expect you are using wordpress why not change the structure of your url to show the post title instead of the ugly and non beneficial url in your first example. It´s not really a problem at all because you can change it through the "permalinks" settings option. Change it to the "post name" option. This will show the post title. I agree with Yukon, this is a big deal. But I dont agree with the fact that this cannot be changed afterwards because.. what do you have to lose to change it afterwards? Url will get reindexed afterwards showing an seo friendly structure..If you dont try you will never find out what benefits you could have had from it. Test and see.

Well the website is only 1 month online, so i can change them without lost something. Let's say that all the forum have url friendly, some pages also, but all articles from news page, and all pages for vendors are not url friendly. The website is not in wordpress, was codding bad in this cases, so i don't think it's easy to change it, so what you suggest me to do? to spend so much money to pay a programmer to take care of this thing, or...?
