Newspaper Article as Tier 1, Should I blast it With Links?

I got featured in a national newspaper (PR8 domain), and they included a dofollow link to my website in their article.

The article would probably never become PR8, and is PR0 right now.

Question: Is there any point of blasting and social sharing that newspaper article to get the maximum amount of juice out of it? Or should I just leave it alone?

P.S. that article is #4 for my main keyword, and my site is #5!

First off, congrats dude. That's an awesome link.

Definitely just let it sit there. Don't ruin a good link with spammy tier 2 junk.

Remember that Google only updates the toolbar PR once every 3-months or so. When the next one comes around (sometime in May) that page will definitely show some PR.

It's a real win but the PR8 will go away once it is no longer on the front page.

I would not do "spammy links" - but you can use it a Tier1/buffer smartly - high PR blog comments, readable articles linking back to it, social signals etc..
