Full Screen IFrame affect ranking?

Hi Guys,

I have a webpage ranking well for a particular keyword, but my client is suspending that service for a little while, so they want to take the webpage down temporarily.

So in order to not lose ranking, I thought about putting a full-screem IFrame that displays the unavailable message, whilst the underlying webpage remains for SEO purposes.

Is this ok SEO wise? Is there a better way to do it?

Thanks for any advice.

Steve.

I think you'd better stop taking clients.

You would be better off, leaving everything alone, keep ranking the old page & simply remove the button/link that leads to the clients checkout page. When the client is ready to continue selling (whatever), the page is still ranked & waiting for the buy/link to be added to the sales page.

Iframes are better for hiding content when it comes to SEO, don't count on Google following anything inside an iframe.

It`s a good idea with the iFrame, but i wonder how you`re going to hide the scroll, it will look weird if you say it`s fullscreen... unless there is no scrolling at any resolution.
