301 redirect aged domain DA 45 to brand new domain - how long till i see effect ?

I bought aged (7 years), Pr4, DA 45 domain with clean link profile and i'd like to redirect it to my brand new domain with wordpress blog to give it trust and authority of the aged domain. How long ahould i wait for the trust to flow to new domain and how long to wait with link building campaign to the new site (as we all know, aged / trust site we can blast a lot) ?

    It can vary but Google should recognize the redirect soon. You can speed up the process by submitting the site to WMT.

    For the link building, you can start as soon as you want. The thing with link building is that you want to avoid spikes in activity that look manipulative or that involve spammy, untrusted websites.

    I would give consideration to moving some pages from your PR4 domain to your brand new blog and see if any of that rubs off.

    3 to 4 weeks for rankings to improve, up to 90 days for PR to flow to the new domain.

    And make sure you do a site:thatolddomainthatibought.com Google search to see if there are any pages in the index worth 301 redirecting to the new site.
