Hi All

I was looking for a little bit of advice if anyone feels they could help me?

I am looking to do some work for a new client on his website and have a look at his current SEO.
Ive made them aware im not an SEO expert but said i would look into their questions.

In the top 7 results, the companies many site ranks 1st and the twitter account is currently 4th.
The company also has a facebook account, linkedin account, youtube account and a blog but none of these show up in the ranking?
They are currently a market leader for their product but a competitor looks to be piggy backing their keywords.
The competitor is currently ranked 2nd in google using the main keyword in one of their articles.

The question i have is how would i go about moving them off the first page of google?

I assume the first step is to do some competitive research using tools such as SEM Rush or Ahrefs.
But what would be the next step?
Would the best step be to start ranking the social media sites to push them down the rankings?
I dont want to do any negative SEO.

Hopefully this gives you some idea of what i need to do but please let me know if there was anything i missed?

Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks for your comments.

    Let me try rephrase.

Company A = company im looking to do some work for who sell Product A
Company B = their main competitor with Product B (similar type of product)

At the moment, Company A' main website ranks 1st and their twitter account ranks 4th for their main keyword.
They are a market leader for their product, Product A.
Their other social media account dont currently show up.

Company B, seeing the success of company A, is using the same keyword to try and get themselves noticed when people search for Product A.
Company B is currently ranked 2nd in google using Product A's main keyword in one of their articles.

Company B have been quite clever in using Product A's keyword in their articles and each article mentions the keyword no less than 20 times compared to Company A with only 11 mentions (when looking at keyword density)

What i mean when i say knock them off page one would be to stop their results showing when a search is done for Product A.

    Hopefully ive explained that better?

I imagine the best way would be to first get the social media profiles ranked, and the to maybe rank some articles or something?
