Quality link going to archive

I have an opportunity to buy a very high quality link in a PR6 website, and it should stay there for a month, afterwards he's being send to archive.
My question is - is it worth it?
How does Google refer to this issue?
I know for a fact that this site in indexed on a daily basis more than once, so the chance to get a higher rank is high, but will it drop after a month? and if so, will it be a dramatic drop?

Thanks

  • Get it if the link is incontent.
  • It depends on how much it costs. You should see a bump up in rankings for a few weeks at least. Will that bump make you more money than the cost of the link?
  • If the link is within relevant content in a blog post/article that will still exist on the site, but not on the PR6 homepage then it's still worth something, just not nearly as much as if it remained on the homepage. There will still be a bit of authority passed onto the page were your link will be. So it really depends on how much they want, the quality of the site, if the PR is actually legit, and the quality of the content your link will be in.
