Anyone else notice a big jump in Google traffic lately?

I sure hope it is not a fluke. The extra traffic is nice but I have focused my traffic generation around fb and email after panda and penguin. Still, nice to see the current se surge. Anyone else? What do you think is the cause?

    i think when some one get more traffic from google, other will get less traffic on google..
    google only show 10 result in their first page result . and there so rarely people go to page two..

      ROTFLMAO! Of course nobody else thinks logically....

      Of course there's always the number of babies born daily that factors in.
      A few years after a surge in babies, you're bound to get more web
      traffic. Well, I guess only if it keeps up with those that died off.
      Oh well. That's off the board.

      The thing is, web traffic is driven by the dynamics of the day. Anyone
      with a nascar site is bound to get more traffic on Sunday. I'm sure
      those kentucky derby sites really took off. Of course if you have a lakers
      site, well, that's a pity. Honey boo boo is hot today.

    weird spike

    I usually get around 20 to 30 opt ins daily. The surge got me 50+ and counting. I hope its PERMANENT but I am not holding my breath.

      Congrats on the increase mate!

      If you start sliding don't positions then all you have to do is build more backlinks.

      And yes I agree page 2 gets 0 traffic for the most part so im not sure why people get happy to be on page 2-3 etc.

      If they are going up in ranking then they should be proud but the only goal
      should be top page - more specifically top 3 spots. There are a few things you can do to increase traffic buy adding a google authorship image or review stars.

    How old is your site, have you done anything different lately as far as your content or gaining backlinks? Maybe it's just as simple as you having a quality site that you've been focused on building, and the end result is you are doing something right that Google is recognizing.

      My sites are over 3 years old. I don't know what caused this spike.

    Yep, I've had a huge spike in traffic myself. About a 30% increase. It looks the same on my WMT graph a steep vertical rise upwards.

    However, because I pay attention to my website, I know where that traffic is coming from. 2 competitive keywords moved up to the #3 & #4 position.

    When/if they move up again, I'll probably see another huge spike in traffic.

    Are you sure its not your rankings causing it?
