A: You need to have quality incoming backlinks from high authority domains with PR that is > 1 of the one you want to achieve and has less than 5 OBL.

You could reach PR3 if you work and work.. There is NO easy way to do this.. You should look in Google for relevant to your website blogs/sites -> ask them for link exchange or kindly ask them about guest blogging on their blogs..

Hope this helps you get the idea!

Usually it takes a bit of time for your site to get a higher PR. You will need to provide good quality content for your visitors and also have sufficient high PR back links. You could also purchase an existing domain name that has a higher PR than 1 and you can start building it from that point. PM me, I have a few 2-4 PR domains available if you like.

To get from 0 to 3 will require a few dozen solid PR2 and 3 backlinks.

Content, quality or otherwise, has nothing to do with PR. It is all about the backlinks.

the ONLY things that will increase your PR is inbound links from higher PR sites...the content on your site has absolutely nothing to do with PR...

No, because you're probably thinking of the PR of a web 2.0 in terms of the web 2.0's home page PR. As in "such and such web 2.0 is really good because it's a PR7." All that means is that "such and such" has a home page with PR7. Each of the millions of "subsites" of that web 2.0 start out with their own home page having PRn/a or PR0. So 2, 10, or 2000 web 2.0 sites linking to your site isn't going to raise your site's PR (your site's home page PR). You need links from PR3/PR4 pages to get a page up to PR3.

the what is the essence of using web2.0 for back linking, i though its majorly for serp ranking which is as a result of higher page ranking from the web2.0 you re linking from to your site

exactly, probably because the conception is that a higher PR will result in higher rankings, which couldnt be further from the truth...

HOW CAN I INCREASE MY PR FROM 0 TO PR 3
You can get higher PR backlinks, or you can get higher PR backlinks.

If that doesn't work try getting higher PR backlinks.

Backlinks from high PR sites and low outbound link increase your site's page rank

there is really lots of contrasting comments here some say you do not need higher PR rank to rank number one , while others are are saying quality content is what you ned some are disputing against it.

then what do i really need to get number one position of my main keyword, if PR rank do not play a part in all of this

take note have been doing back link for some thing now yet no effect on the site what then should i do that i have not done.

Ofcourse backlinks are required to gain PR value but if you can't build backlinks yourself then you should create interesting contents that people love to share and bookmark. This can also help in increasing PR.

It's a funny cycle, high pr backlinks lead to high pr, whose pr came first? Who knows!

If you want pr3, get pr3+ backlinks. My advice is to:

-Rent links on high pr sites.
-Do interviews with the owners of high pr sites.
-Write about the owners of the high pr sites.

Its more important to get quality back links for the website, as that would only help you to gain ranking for the website or else you have to get reciprocal links for your websites.
