Hello everyone, Want to discuss a quick questions!

Which keyword will you choose - The one whose searches are maximum but none of your competitors are targetting it
or
the one with low search engine volume but most of the bees are using it?

Thanks

  • I don't understand the question why would I choose a keyword with low search volume if the the competititon is high?

I would choose a "50 searches per month keyword" with no competition over "10,000 searches per month keyword" with high competition. What's the point choosing a highly searched term if you can't rank for it.

But if you have an already established authority website, it would be realtively easier to rank for high competition keywords.

So my answer is : it depends...

    • Thanks for the suggestion volkansen..
Please let me clear my question.
One of my client is offering web designing service. For one set of keywords(With high search engine volume), blogs and informational websites are ranking but none of my competitors are targeting it.
While most of my competitors are targeting the keywords with very low search engine volume.
So which one should I target.
  • Search volume provided by Google is an approximation. Search volume is the average of number of searches in the past months. For example Android Application is trending from today the search volume will be less, but the pages ranking for those keywords can get a lot of visits.
  • 1 is very competitive with very little search volumes.
2 is less competitive with many many search volumes.

I'd go for 1 if I want to prove that I'm a very effective SEO specialist. And, I fight with Giant in order to receive a milligram of meat.

I'd go for 2 if I don't want to bother fighting with those Giant, instead I just fight with little ants and gain 100 kilograms of meat.
  • DUPLICATED POST!
  • If you are researching keywords then make sure that the keyword should have at least 1000 searches per month, so that you would get some benefit if you rank them.
